Meesh, Alston, Kiko, Porter were the ones who missed 3 or more.

Wesley, OJ, Hill
Tackled solidly best of defense.

It was worst tackling game of Mario
Era, worst since Mid Tenn State.

What was the cause? Short week after playing an uptempo USF offense than ran lots of plays? Injuries piling up? Not focused enough? VT just has horses in Drones and the RB?

I think really it was a little bit of all that. This was uncharacteristic performance from a Guidry defense. It was his units worst tackling game of his Miami tenure.

Why do you all think we tackled so poorly?

idk but rarely does a team tackle that badly and still win so we can take that as a blessing

PFF had Miami with 11 players under a 40 tackling grade.

I was absolutely disgusted by what I saw defensively. From the play to the coaching. We looked like a Manual defense in space tackling and taking awful angles.

Richard is a garbage tackler in space. Meesh is not a good tackler at all. Harris got bullied by a qb on their td end around. Alston overran the qb twice for big plays. You gotta break down for a mobile qb and force him back to the wash

Another outside factor i was considering that i really haven't seen mentioned is Hurricane Helene ruling through Central/ North Florida & Georgia. We have alot more players from those areas these days than in past years. I'm sure many of them were concerned about the well-being of their friends & families and that's more than enough to rattle your focus..

there was signs against USF. A lot of the same issues but USF doesn’t have the talent or depth of a VT. The film is out now. Hopefully somebody steps up at some spots and Bain is Moses when he returns. Damari too.

In Harris's defense that QB is bigger than half of our LBs. Drones has at least 30lbs on him

It’s on the coaching. This defense looked completely unprepared for what Va Tech was running. Players were on their heals and reacting, instead of attacking. Two weeks in a row now, where at least in the first half, Guidry has gotten outcoached.

There was some Denofrio type pressures lol. So delayed and late it was useless. Reminded me of the DP blitz against WF lol. Came from a mile away and Kate af

I think we eventually have to give some credit to VTs oline. They did a good job protecting Drones and controlling the los in the first half against our front 7. We flipped the script in the second half though
