Just to be clear, this isn’t a blame thread. I don’t honestly understand why there needs to be blame threads. Obviously we couldn’t block for **** and mistakes were made, but I thought it was a good showing for us. We beat the spread (an impartial measure of what professionals think will happen) and could have won. I’m optimistic after what I saw. A lot to improve upon but that’s probably the best team we’ll play all year. Wisconsin didn’t just beat us by 30, Florida is a good team.

I don’t think we lost because of the refs, I thought they were disastrously bad for both sides. It was Opposite Day out there. First half was heavily scewed against us with the exception of the fumble that we got near midfield which it looked to me that Florida had recovered. Wasn’t even reviewed. 2 uncatchable balls getting pass interference. Just making up the rules as they go for false starts and formation shifting.

2nd half was just bad for everybody. At least 3 majorly questionable personal fouls. Pass interference called with no consistency. False starts erratically enforced. It was a game we could have won and it’s reductive IMO to blame the refs. Refs didn’t muff a fair catch in the red zone. Refs didn’t miss the bunny field goal. Refs didn’t get sacked 11 times, refs didn’t hold onto the ball forever.

But wtf were they doing?

That's the big 12's best crew... Jesus. I realize they aren't allowed to play defense out there, but man those pi calls were terrible - and then, on one that essentially decides the game, the littleb1tch looking right at it throws the flag but lets himself get talked out of it? Just brutal.

He ‘replayed it in his head’.

Worst game Ive ever seen. Refs, blocking, offense, special teams. This was the worst 4 quarters of football Ive ever seen. Some of the high school games played this weekend were better.

that shows you are hard our kids fought. all those mistakes and it still took the refs to beat us. lol

The refs had a lot of horrendously bad calls and missed calls on both teams. Most of our offense in the second half was penalties on Florida.

They could have called holding every play on Miami and missed some on Florida. The incompetence was at least mostly unbiased and screwed both teams. What was inconceivable was the crucial missed false start - that was egregiously bad. How can that get missed?

Big 12 Refs never see any real defense so I was not surprised by their ineptitude and inconsistency.

That missed false start on 4th and 5 was a game changer. They put points on the board on that drive.
