Worst loss in program history

Everyone has to go. Lose some recruits. Who cares. We need a coach with some substance and success elsewhere:

-Norvell
-Matt Campbell
-Bill Clark

We blew it not giving Mullen a chance.
If FSU are struggling to find a new HC what chance do we have?!

Who cares. We at least know this trash doesn't belong. There has to be someone affordable who is much better than this trash.
Does there? Look at how Tom Herman has done at Texas.

Just turn out the lights, the party is over. We're done as a relevant football programme.

Nah. You are overreacting. Post Davis here is a summary of the HC hires

Miami OC
Miami DC
G5 coach
Fired coach who was retiring
Miami DC

When we fail with a good coach, I'll be the first to put a nail in the coffin

It doesn’t even bother me anymore.
And it shouldn't. I have been a fan since 1963 and an alum shortly after that. I saw more crappy games that we should have won than I could shake a stick at. And then I witnessed the greatness and the exhilaration of being a part (albeit a very small one) of it. But now I'm old and my perspective has changed. My expectations have been tempered by the years. Sure I curse at the TV when games like this happen and I'm joyous when we win. But I refuse to let it define me or my love for the Canes. It's a GAME. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Making yourself crazy over a game is....well...CRAZY!

Our power rating entering the game was 78. It takes a heck of a lot of losses to drop to 78. Sustained losses over many seasons. The problem here is that so many fans and the people who run this forum don't want to believe that we are actually 78, parallel to Appalachian State entering this week. We're actually a disguised Alabama. Just look at all of our late round drafts picks in the NFL.

The worst loss in program history was Penn State in 1986 season Fiesta Bowl. That would have been a legendary team. We were demonstrably superior to Penn State, as evidenced by the lopsided yardage. Second worst loss given what was at stake was Ohio State. But that team was tremendous and would give us trouble every time.

When you are 6-4 with a 78 power rating a loss like this is well within your wheelhouse. No birthright whatsoever to avoid it.

To borrow a term I use in the NFL, we are a Crowd program. Nothing else. We are Crowd. The elite programs are Cream.

Yeah man I was born in 86 so my first real experience of Miami football was the beginning of Butch’s era which we were not good at first but I stayed a fan, enjoyed the championship year in 01, I’ll criticize the team, get a little mad but at the end of the day like you said it’s just a game, I’ll always have love for the Canes

At least that Penn State team was talented. To put this into perspective, we just lost at the site of the old Orange Bowl to an over the hill Butch Davis coached FIU team that just got smashed 37-7 last week by FAU and we had 2 full weeks to prepare for them - 2 full weeks to prepare for a 5-5 FIU team coming off a 30 point pantsing by FAU and we got flat out embarrassed! You can't tell me this isn't the worst loss in program history. FIU controlled the game from the jump and we were never really competitive against a team we should have simply been able to out talent. And that doesn't even take into account that I'm going to have to hear my FIU friends and coworkers give me **** forever for this one.
