I see Diaz leaving UM after this season and the sh*tstorm will be nuclear. Last week when Diaz had to tell Richt to lay down and not score after the first down so we could run the clock out tells me Diaz questions Mark's decision making ala leadership at this stage of his life. Diaz/defense has literally been saving Mark's bullshiet offense from day one and Manny doesn't look like a guy who accepts mediocrity on a daily basis. The defense has been improving every year, yet the offense is stuck in crazy glue. Diaz has redeemed his career after Texas and probably has grown as a D-coordinator after a few bumps. I'm calling it now, an SEC/Big10 team will be throwing out feelers at the end of the season. Hold on tight.

maybe Richt's Aunt Gladys can run the defense next year. would it really make any difference ?

I respect Diaz. Caught **** at Texas, but has since responded.

He also improved our 3rd down defense. Made the right adjustments in off-season (Stryker package, etc with 5-6 DBs on the field). He went back to simplifying things and it has worked.

Props to Simpson too. He is the goods.

LMFAOOO Bro. I haven't laughed this hard in weeks. It is especially funny because it is true. His other son just graduated from Music school so we better pray he gets a job ASAP or he will end up as our next DC.

I agree with you about the D saving us. I'm not saying you said this but people were dogging Diaz at one point. Funny how things change once you develop the pieces.

I agree. HC gig is the next stop. Diaz is young, energized and someone you can build a dynasty around. In year 3, Diaz is starting to put it all together. SEC/Big10 will be dropping mega bags. UM should announce him HC in waiting. Richt should just retire already.

The worst will come in February. No coach that's been exposed as a fraud in year 4 ever has a strong recruiting class.

This will be our most talented team we ever have with Richt and this is the best he can do with us.

Worst part is the D will take a step back next year (losing 2 safeties, best CB, best DT, and likely Joe Jax) and the O will still be a hot pile of steaming **** b/c the O-Line and OC suck.
 
Salaries for coordinators are out of control. TAMU pays DC Mike Elko $1.8M/year. His one year at ND, 2017, the Irish ranked 46th in total defense.

What if someone offered Manny $1.5M+ to be their DC?
