Worse hires any team's ever made than SCar's Muschamp

I know someone from West Virginia, they all hate Rich Rodriguez to this day. The players at Michigan detested him, the guy is a real scumbag by all accounts.

They hate Rodriguez for leaving. They've never been close to as good after he left.

Derek Dooley at Tennessee. Was 4-8 the year prior at Louisiana Tech. Got the job based on his "credibility" from being around Saban. Kinda the same nonsense that the Cristobal slurpers were trying to sell us.

Exactly. Many teams have fcked themselves by thinking the Saban/Belichick magic trickles down to every assistant who works for them.

And Dooley's fathers success also was a reason for his hiring.

Some of the people on this board made that error when they were discussing the idea of Kiffin and Cristobal for Miami HC. "But now they've coached under Saban. They've got to be better HC now than they were in the past."

Muschamp has done way more in football that our prior hire ever did......

Except lose to our prior HC in a football game. Will Muschamp is a great recruiter though.

Muschamp can be considered as a defensive guru, the reason really good defensive players have always flocked to him..

Muschump sucked last year at AU!!

What about when he was at Texas, LSU, & Florida?

It's a retarded viewpoint. Merely working for a great boss doesn't make you a great boss. You gotta be a boss to be a boss.

Muschump, Bob Davie, and Coker should destroy that theory

Gene Chizik was 5-19 at Iowa State before Auburn came calling. Good DC but awful head guy. Lucked out with a once in a generation type player in Cam.

Chizik is by far the worst coach to ever win a NC.
Nobody else is even a contender with him for the no.1 spot. There are a few contenders for the 2nd worst coach spot (Bennie Ooberstaan at Michigan, Danny Ford at Clemson, of course Coker at Miami and maybe Ben Schatzwalder at Syracuse and Duffy Daugherty at MSU) but none of them even comes close to Chizik's awfulness.

Muschump, Bob Davie, and Coker should destroy that theory

Bob Davie has an amazing coaching tree that as impressive as any coach not named Jimmy Johnson. It may seem laughable but it's true. There was one year under Davie where Charlie Strong, Urban Meyer, Dan Mullen and Steve Addazio were all on the exact same coaching staff. As was Greg Mattison who was Meyer's co defensive coordinator at UF along with Strong.

Going way back, how about Gerry Faust at Notre Dame? He was a high school coach with zero chance of winning.

Bill Callahan at Nebraska and Rich Rodriguez at Michigan. Both programs wanted to remold their programs and failed at a very difficult assignment.
Rodriguez seemed like a good hire at the time and hiring Callahan seemed like a decent move. Agree with you on Faust though.
I wish Callahan was still coaching my Cowboys O-line

Smart will bust at GA. So what he coached under Saban. Sabans like Bellicheck of the NFL, all his assistants flame out as head coach somewhere else

I know he did. In fact, the fact that he had so many good assistants probably makes his record even worse. If he hadn't had such great staffs imagine what his record would have been.

The offenses that Meyer, Mullen and Addazio all run were predicated off Davie's triple option.

How Will Muschamp got another head coaching job, I'll never know. He bombed at Florida, took a DC job at Auburn and sucked there. The man is 0-1 against Al Golden for Chirst's sake.

Only people who say that are the ones that thought that bull**** he was running (gimmick offense) and doing (shady grades) would go over at Michigan.

Davie didn't have an offense. He was strictly a defensive coach. Meyer learned no offense at all from Davie. Mullen installed that offense at Bowling Green. If I had to guess, he bit it from Rich Rod.
