Nobody kills each other during practice during the regular season. That's how you get kids banged up and hurt. You rep, you lift, you prep, etc.

Maybe because he had to deal with losing an OC, dealing with NCAA violations, playing undermanned, adjusting to a new culture, turning over a roster left with crap by Radio, building up a program that went down fast by mismanagement, a bunch of ******* grown ups acting like kids in South Florida, etc... I care less if Golden stays or goes as long as the product on the field improves, but there might have been factors. I think the one constant or sense of stability he thought he had was the Defensive of Coordinator, who unfortunately was not producing the desired results.

Now that he has stability in other areas, perhaps the D will be his main focus.

I didn't realize Golden was on retainer dealing with the NCAA (bullchit).

I didn't realize Golden was playing OC and the offense sucked after Fisch left (bullchit).

I didn't realize it took 40+ games to adjust to a "new culture" (bullchit).

The D has been utter dogchit since 2012...but now all of the sudden he has time to deal with it?

My guess is Al saw the writing on the wall with his friend and the D. He saw the same failed routine for 40+ games and said, I got to save my job. The telling evidence will be (a) where we finish (i.e. does this continue) and (b) if Coach D is here next year (assuming Golden is the HC).

If you didn't hear, a banner was flown over their practice this week demanding the firing of the GM.

They are more aggressive, but Golden isn't calling the defense, and he's not a defensive genius. I can't believe people are running with the idea that Golden is somehow a great defensive mind. Look at his UVA and Temple defenses. They were garbage with the exception of one season each. Also Dorito has been running Golden's defenses since Temple. You mean to tell me it took 8 to 9 years for Golden to realize Dorito is not a good DC? LOL.
