For SFL coaches on the high school and 7v7 scene to be an analyst, coach whatever on staff. Idk what the rules are about hiring coaches in relation to recruits but 1.) it’s a way of giving back and building up in the community 2.) create stronger local relationships in the community 3.) it helps with future recruits.

Thoughts?

If Miami has an unfair advantage, it's against the rules. If Alabama has an unfair advantage, it's encouraged.

Miami has hired multiple local coaches to assistant and analyst positions over the years. Currently on staff is Mike Rumph, former head coach at American Heritage. Stephen Field was head coach at Northwestern High School and an assistant at multiple other high schools in Florida. David Cooney was offensive coordinator at Southridge.

There's been other former local high school guys too. Most notably Ice Harris, former head coach at Booker T Washington

This. Manny has already adopted this approach, there's just only so many of these positions. He also had Hyppolite, Lockett, etc. at least on the staff for a bit. I just think you need to refresh these guys every 2 or 3 years so you still have a legit connection to a school or area.

Manny and Miami are at the point where winning is the real issue we are facing. Win big games, have top draft picks and we can offset the players we lose to the bag game. Also to your point be able to identify "persons" who can make us better closers in recruiting.

Stop thinking the answer is in those few high schools in Miami/Dade those few assistants came /come from; We don't get the best from them, and it also sets up a dynamic with a kid being recruited for the same position of a player from the program the assistant used to coach at - recruits notice that stuff.

How about we put in the work and go find gems in the rest of Southern part of the state, because relying on recruiting Miami/Dade every season is into its third decade of not working out very well for this program. Too much competition from schools that can showcase that talent better than Miami on the National level.

Waste of time.. wont make a difference. Im still waiting to see what pull Mike Rumph has

...and analyst, coaches and whatevers would just work for free because they have all the time in the world and no other obligations in life but to help the U be the best football team they can be. If Jerome Powell was our AD this would get done asap.

If he would just hire CIS porsters Miami would never lose a game

I still have no clue how we were getting fleeced for elite Heritage kids with Rumph on staff, that was laughable
joke wtf GIF

I think Manny has done the best in recent memory at filling his staff and support staff with guys with SFL high school roots

Richt was the one that hired Rumph (HS HC from AH), Cooney (OC Southridge), DVD (ASA College CB Coach). Diaz just hired Ish & T-Rob.

Edit: he did hire Fields & Hicks. Forgot bout them.

God no. Unless they’re somebody in the mold of Ice Harris or Field I don’t want them here. I already can’t stand Cooney being here and the last thing we need to fill our staff with a bunch of Pop Cooney. What we need to start a pipeline of guys like Jess Simpson, Ice Harris, Stephen Field, Ponce, etc. Those guys go on and become D1 level coaches because they know wtf they’re doing.
