Wisconsin officially sues Miami over Xavier Lucas

Not bad at all and certainly glad he's a Cane. 247 and ESPN had him at 3-stars. Like OJ, he arrived late in the summer and was ready right away, and I know he separated himself a bit in the Spring.

But I think Wisconsin's reaction to losing Lucas, the positive reports from Spring, and his combo of size/speed has Miami fans expecting the world and was just wondering if pumping the brakes might be appropriate. It's also a very crowded CB room and he's among the least experienced in that group. Sounds like he will have a nice career but he's still a pup.
Because the lawsuit isn’t about losing Lucas, as much as it’s about losing the potential to ***** thousands of more kids.

That’s all.

They are suing Miami for the right to ***** thousands of kids. They are ****ed that Miami prevented them from ******** over Lucas.

It was always about that. ... And using the threat of legal action to intimidate anyone else into not transferring.
Right.

The Big 10 probably also thought this was something that would give them a competitive advantage over the SEC. But certain schools played their cards too early and used it before it was legitimate. And now here we are.

Anyone have a link to our Motion to Dismiss? I see Ross Delenger posted partial screenshots, but I’d like to see the whole thing if possible.

Is there a lack of diversity that prevents us from removing this case to federal court? Seems like a no brainer to get out of the state court sandbox.

I believe so. UW is, as a state university, "the state". Thus the university is not a citizen for diversity. Thus there is no complete diversity. There are cases dealing with this issue, but I have not read them closely to determine if they are older or differ on the facts of the case.

They have a public docket in Dane County Wisconsin but the documents for this case are not online. I sent an email to the Clerk of Court requesting it. Will circulate it if I get a copy back. Telephonic hearing on the MTD is set for 8/20 @ 10 AM. Will try to see if there are public credentials for that also.
