The only reason Miami won't win the CoRstal every year is coRching, like this season.

UNC, VT, UVA, GT, PITT, and DUKE should NEVER out recruit Miami so talent won't be the reason.

I do like Fuente but for those crowning him as an offensive mastermind, VT scored 35 PPG this season (35th in FBS). Miami: 34.6 (37th in FBS). Miami was actually better than VT in Yards per Play: 6.52 vs. 5.8. Also, Memphis essentially put up the same numbers this year without Fuente as they did last year (39.5 PPG in 2016 vs 40.2 in 2015). In fact their Yards per Play actually increased a bit this year. Granted Memphis is doing it with Fuente's players, but still, I'm not ready to concede the 2017 coastal simply because Fuente is coaching against us.

Memphis put up better numbers with a brand new QB. Lynch went to the NFL, and everyone expected Memphis to fall apart. That's probably why Fuente jumped when he did. He didn't even think he could keep it rolling at Memphis without Lynch.

This team finished 2nd. One loss was questionable with HORRIBLE reffing the other was a fluke against fsu. ND ooc and VTech is the clear
Only loss cause that **** O line. Winning isn't an issue at all in this half of the ACC.
Fuente just won COTY with a JUCO QB in both their first years. This team will be dominant with depth next season. Next topic

I'll be on the fire Richt train. Or at least I'll be on that train that Richt should have to win the Coastal in 2018 to avoid being fired.

Depends on how the season goes for me. For instance, if say VT jumps up next year and literally goes undefeated, including beating us, but we still win 10 or even 11 games, I won't be calling for Richt's head just because we lost out on the Coastal again.

Now, if we go 8-4, and say VT goes 8-4 and they win the Coastal because of some tie breaker or something, THAT's unacceptable.

I think worst case scenario where Richt still gets an out is if we go 9-3 in the regular season. As much as it would suck to not perform better, you could point to improvement by one win and if he wins his bowl game (in this scenario) and they go 10-3, that would be the 1st 10 win season since, what...? 03'? That would be acceptable.

Bottomline is, he is expected to win the Coastal and if it takes him his 3rd season to do it, that's not as fast as we want, but it is reasonable. Or to at least play for the bloody thing in 3 years minimum!

I've gone on record a couple times saying that we win the Coastal next year. Hold me to it if I'm wrong, but I believe we're set up to do it. Also as I've said, I don't know if we win the ACC next year, but I do predict we win the Coastal.

VT wont go undefeated, if they play any average OOC team, or play UL, Clemson or FSU. ****, they wont go undefeated in the Coastal.

Fuente may just be a savage. Took a program in decline, that averaged 6 wins a year the last few seasons, and had been surpassed by Al Folden's Canes, and mocked the other Coastal "Powers" of UM and UNC. CMR had a talent advantage, and thats undeniable. Still a crap team, though. Would finish in the bottom third of any other division.

That said, WTACCCOGTFOH in 2017 for CMR. Dont see any result that overcomes another Coastal fail. We cant even sniff getting back to even top 20 status until we can distance ourselves from the crap Coastal clowns.

I'll guarantee that CMR will have a 2017 Canes team that has had 4-5 better ranked recruiting classes than anyone else in the division.

Coastal was low key one of the better divisions in College. At least record wise it was.

The impressive VT and UNC losses to SEC East clowns like UT and Georgia? The Canes impressive effort at ND?

A few terrible Coastal teams had wins over ND and...GT beat UGA, rght? And Pitt beat a massively over rated PSU.

I say it was the worst Coastal in a long time. The winner wouldnt finish in the top third of any other conference.

Miami played FSU and NCST as cross division rivals...
VT played BC and Syracuse...

If Miami played BC and Syracuse and VT played FSU and NCST we would probably be in the ACC Champs this weekend.

OP is going to fire Rick if Rick doesn't meet OP's standards.

Im gonna try. And you have to agree, the standard I set is pretty **** low. Win a division that has no legit top 25 teams, with the most talented team.

I bet Herman would win it in 2017.

You're trying too hard...

Miami and Pitt could beat any team in the SEC East...
-Pitt beat 2 top 10 teams (PSU and Clemson) so don't try to make them seem like they are lucky or some sht.
-VT was destroying Tenn until they started having fumble problems...fumbles that wasn't even forced by Tenn, they loss because they couldn't hold the ball, not because they weren't the better team. I'm confident if VT didn't fumble 5 times that game is a blow out win (Tenn had 25 total yards before VT started fumbling.
-UNC loss to UGA was a good game, not like they got blown out...infact, they just wasn't able to close because they were winning that game.
-GT had a terrible year and still finished 8-4.
-Miami's october was the most important month for this team, and even though we went 1-4...we are undefeated in September and November under Mark Richt, and the offense was trying to find themselves all the way up to half-time of ND.

Bottomline is...the Coastal is full of very inconsistent teams.. but definitely isn't a division to rack up wins against...

Naw....gotta wait until Richt is in AT LEAST year 5 (full compliment of recruiting classes) before we can fully evaluate him. I think if he doesn't win the Coastal by year 6, then maybe we should revisit this.

Reasonable enough. If we go 11-1 and get shut out of the ACC title game I'll be fine. However the Coastal champion is either 6-2 or 5-3 in conference every year, so it's hard to imagine being shut out of the ACCG if we're 7-1 in the ACC.

We need another playmaker on the outside besides Richards assuming Njoku bolts. If not, Richards will be double covered all season. Hopefully Cager recovers fully and can help, Mullins steps it up, and Berrios gets involved more next year. I'm also intrigued by Herndon and his abilities. He's not Njoku, but he does have some skills that will help us.

Defensively this will be our best front seven in quite some time. Excited for what these guys will be able to do.

Herndon is a better football player than Njoku, and Irvin is better than both. Watch and see.

Yeah, realistically the Coastal winner is normally 6-2/5-3. In other words, we really should win the Coastal next year...and we will!

I like Herndon! Better? Ehh...
