Willis suspended for Season Opener per Porter

Oh Jesus fuggin' Christ!

Not sure if you realize it but Jesus Christ is your only hope for life after you die on this earth.

You got some rock solid proof of that though?

It is historically documented that the man lived ,was crucified and rose from the dead. No other man from any other religion has that claim of being risen from the dead.
Several different men put this in writing and all documented basically the same thing. Hundreds witnessed the man alive after his crucifixion.

Simon Greenfield-one of the founders of Harvard law school and one of the greatest legal minds of the 19th century,an atheist, who set out to prove that the resurrection of Jesus Christ was just a legend, instead came to the conclusion that Jesus Christ did indeed rise from the dead after he reviewed the evidence.

In the same way God raised Jesus Christ from the dead to everlasting life we too have that hope. All that is required is that you believe (trust) that God did indeed raise JC and that you confess JC as your Lord and Savior.

Do you have a link to his Hudl? This J. Christ sounds like he might deserve a 5th star, but do you know if he can play Safety?

God I can't wait for the f'ing season to begin...

[That was a prayer btw]

funny, this morning i was reading an excerpt on Albert Einstein's spiritual beliefs and their intersection with his scientific observations and work. he believed, among other things, that because of our limited consciousness, we could not truly understand "god" (a term that comes from the dyslectic "dog") and that religion was essentially inept.

i agree with this entirely. religion for the most part is about power and money and compulsion. some of the least spiritual beings i know are highly religious.

Druish princesses are often attracted to money and power, and I have BOTH, and YOU KNOW IT!

This thread has devolved into one of the worst threads on CIS and that is saying something. Hopefully, someone will incite parrotnose and he will take a disproportionate run at them.

Hopefully, that ******* Parrotnose will post some of his spam videos in here and get this thread back on track. Any time a dumb **** inserts religion or politics into one of these threads it becomes an Asperger's grunt fight.

Why can't we just be normal?

This kind of stuff is pretty normal. That's why it's smart to open with a cupcake.

I know it does, but it confounds me that lessons seem not to be learned by athletes across the board rather it be performance drugs, incidents with chicks, smoking weed or just unacceptable behavior. No matter how many examples they see they still do it.

Oh Boy, Religion and History, two of my favorite subjects. Before anyone objects, The Canes are an historical football program and Father Leo is tied to many of our NCs, so we are on topic.

Novocane is correct about the amount of historical evidence that Jesus lived, was crucified and it was claimed He rose from the dead. There is evidence that The Resurrection is fact. One could argue it but there is more evidence of that fact than where President Obama was born. (that should stir some fires)

Novocane strays into particular religious beliefs in his last paragraph. Historically, believing that Faith alone is sufficient is only about 500 years old and a contrary, indeed, rebellious to the longer historic Faith. Rather than rehash Catholic vs Protestant position, I ask Novo to refer to his Bible. It will show several clear additional requirements that The Christ, himself, put on us. Couple that jump to mind: Trinitarian Baptism, Eating of The Body and drinking The Blood, Judge less not you be judge, and my personal problem one, love you enemy. There are more, but clearly thinking only two are required, while comforting, is dangerous.

Keep studying that History. It leads to home for all believers.

Love your enemy is an interesting topic and an example of it is given in the OT where a man is told to help his enemies donkey if it is fallen off the side of the road. Another example is Jesus praying for his crucifiers even as they are crucifying him. To love your enemy is not the same as the love you would have for your spouse or child but it is to be good and kind to them as God is good and kind to all men.

Some good commentary here Revised English Version
