Willie Taggart Appreciation Thread

People need to stop bashing this move. Slick Willie has two WR coaches because he's an innovator. They're going to implement a new offensive system that requires more WRs, so he needs extra WRs coaches. In a few years, nobody will remember that Jimbo Fisher won one measly championship at f$u. Slick Willie will be piling them up going 5 wide every play, cycling in juggernaut WRs with the benefit of double coaching. This may be the most important innovation in football since the invention of the forward pass. If f$u is wise, they lock him up to a 10 year deal NOW, before the $ec schools come calling.

Actually, what they may be going for is an innovative 23 man wide receiver offense. While it will never get a first down, the innovative offense will allow for continuous “too many men on the field” penalties.

This in turn will increase the number of punts, where FSU plans to capitalize on muffed punt returns. Fumbles are returned for touchdowns, without the offense having to ever do anything. This frees Coach Taggart to never have to recruit a quarterback ever again.

This is strategy. This is analytics. This is the future.

Genius. No Hurricane should ever sign this petition.

happy for FSU's misfortune but someone please explain the logic of this rule. you can't move a coach off field until two years but you can hire as many off field guys at any time like alabama seems to do?
Off field coaches have more contact ability than on field coaches. Slight difference but nonetheless a difference. Why Bama seems to have about a dozen off field ‘coaches’ at all times..

Smh I don't understand how any kid (especially from South Fla) can look at this guy & be convinced he's going to develop you into a great player.

There's no other explanation other than bags, but these kids man smh... They just fall for it every time.

Willie Baggart. "Come to FSU. My philosophy is 'Do Something' and then you can figure it out on your own!"

I guess one coach will coach the x and the other the y

It’s not that different than us having a cb coach and safety coach most just use 1 dB coach

Any kid who picked them over us needs to be there. If that was a hard choice for the kid I dont want them anywhere near our program. Only way you choose them over us after that train wreck of a season is because of bags. What parent allows there child to go to that school without some bread exchanging hands.

I'll say it again, the best coach at FSU in 40 years. I almost feel like I have a connection with old Willie. Not sure anyone here could do it better than that guy.

I just want to say I have at times made disparaging remarks about Coach Taggart. I called him incompetent, unqualified, and most frequently called him a joke. The more I think about it though I have been to hard on this great man. FSU is lucky to have him. We need to honor this man. Hope this man continued success at FSU. Hopefully we can continue to stay one step ahead of this brilliant strategist and coach. It will make Mannys job harder but I hope Willie remains at FSU year after year and this rivalry will remain as fierce and competitive as it has been over the few years. Honor this man. Respect this man. I will continue to post this mans numerous accolades on this thread.

Will you be laughing when fsu's WRs are twice as good as everybody else? I say we hire two QB coaches.
