Butch Davis isn't even being mentioned on Swamp Gas. He isn't being mentioned for ANY opening. Hey, nice run 20 years ago, but the world has moved on.

If they hire Butch I'm changing teams!!! #GoGators

I don't know if I'd go that far.

Although, it would be hilarious to see Butch haters and doubters get their noses rubbed in the dirt after he gets them back on top.

Imagine Butch - with a large checkbook for Coordinators and coaches!

Wow.

Davis could build their program. He’s a ****** game day coach, but with a proper OC and DC, he could give us nightmares. Those Bull Gatahs would open their wallets if he started raiding decent talent.

He keeps Radio , too.

Do not want.

Because Butch Davis is, you know, such a proven winner as a head coach.

Exactly, outside of Canes and FIU message boards, nobody is talking about or mentioning him.

Chip Kelly, then either Mullens or Scott Frost should be the short list.

Retards like you are the reason I'd actually like to see him take the job.

Like I was rooting for Clemson to roll up Golden?

Same thing.

A 66 year old Butch Davis taking six years to build a program. Yes, I would love to see that too. Because if he did it in 1998......

Chip Kelly would be a home run hire for them. I hope they give the job to Shannon lol

Theywill be a good offense and great at x and os but they wont recruit at a high level with him

Why don’t we just let this Botch Davis shīt go. Biggest game we’ve had in a long time in 6 days and we’re doing polls on the gaturds and Botch. What the fūck is this?

Some of you guys are bigger Botch fans than UM fans. Just let it go.

Let's pretend, for a moment, that UF would be interested in Butch Davis.

The real question is, would Butch Davis be interested in UF?

He's being paid well at FIU. He's in his sixties and obviously enjoying his sunset years coaching for a school that doesn't have lofty expectations. He's going to get a lot of recruits the big schools pass on/border not take.

He's a good enough coach to get 8-9 wins out of FIU.

....Why in the blue **** would he even *want* to go to UF? A school with a lunatic fringe fanbase, unrealistic expectations, interfering boosters, and an extreme amount of pressure that ran two HOF coaches out of town.

IF Butch was smart, he would've stuck with ESPN, but he wanted to coach. I think he's exactly where he wants to be, and even if UF was interested, I don't think Butch is.

Ten years ago, would it be a good fit? Perhaps.

But not now. Especially with the image UF currently has of both being a dumpster fire, and the fact they are desperately trying to manipulate themselves out of a large buyout, something no elite coach would particularly like, especially not Butch.

Butch Davis' record at Miami was worse than Jimbo Fisher's record without Jameis Winston.

He lost by 25 points to East Carolina.

At home.

But don't worry.

Stricklin will run out of space on his notepad before he even thinks of Butch Davis.
