Will this game be a blow out ?

We sat next to the sweetest OSU couple in Phoenix in 2003. I had to call my buddies off because they could not have been more nice.

But the way the rest of that fanbase behaved was totally disgusting and abhorrent. Part of the reason I still hate that program so much to this day.
Shows you that every fanbase has "those".

Before the line dropped I honestly thought it was going to be Ohio St. -5 or -6. Whenever it’s your own team involved it’s easy to blow it off as bias or homerism, but I truly feel that point spread is way too high.
The line has to be that high because they're expecting Mario OR Carson Beck to choke at some point. Both have that X factor narravtive that could cost us...

If neither one of those had that, it'd probably be in the -4 or -5 range like you think it should be...

we beat the spread by 10 against A&M and could have easily been 20 if we made field goals.... If we won 19-3 AND Mario/Beck didn't have the narrative they have against them, this game could easily be a pickem...

regardless, I like it because it gives a sense of "we could blow these guys out" by OSU.... it'll be up to Day to get OSU to have that "underdog/prove the world wrong" mentality which I think will be very difficult with a +10 spread AND already defending national champs....

This team is too good up front to be blown out by anyone. That only happens if Beck gives them the ball a ton and gives them short fields/pick 6’s and the defense packs it in, which is extremely unlikely. They are also extremely slow pace on offense.

Don’t let their defense get in a position to play downhill against us and don’t take until the 4th Q to adjust on offense and we win.

**** Ohio State

both think we lose but the guy on the left things we lose 27-10.. guy on the right thinks we lose and cover

I think we surprise everyone and spank them. We’re still being overlooked, we’re on a streak, feeling good, and getting better every game imo. I think Dawson has left a lot on the table and knows it and has been evolving and learning as well. Just hope we don’t have the same late start this time and can stay ahead and force them to play one dimensionally and let our pass rush feast.
One thing is certain and that is we will not beat Ohio State if we are one dimensional. We are going to have to keep that defense off balance and the passing game must and I mean must produce and I'm not talking about throwing bubble screens. Dawson is going to have to draw from the entire playbook. I can't see us beating them by going east/west so we need to dust off the power running game between the tackles preferably from the Pistol formation. Keep them guessing, stay ahead of the chains and leave it all on the field. The defense will have to play another outstanding game. Stop Jackson and get to Sayin. Special Teams will also be crucial. Take points whenever and however you can get them. We can do this!

Reasonable take. You seem like a more reasonable OSU fan than most who come on this board.

I wouldn’t expect much hospitality here but hope you stick around for a spirited debate.

Thanks, and understood on the hospitality issue. I understand our fanbase's reputation, especially with the Miami fanbase. I'm only here to talk football by providing some insight on Ohio State and learn more about Miami's team. The football talk on this board is quality.

Dawson was in a funk the whole first half. It was Beck that encouraged him to pound it between the tackles. Beck said we had complete control on the OL.
Dawson gets too cute sometimes, and that leads to yards lost or no gain. I'm all for getting cute. But get cute at the right time. And it doesn't have to be Toney every single time. I also have concerns using Toney on returns. We can't take a chance on injury.
We need a much better offensive performance going forward. There will be no wind or weather. We are in a retractable stadium with 70° - 75° temperatures.
This is when we can open up the COMPLETE offense. The offense that helped us get here.
And it's a neutral site, which can help?
Crazy for a game this big to be on a Weds night.

Dawson must have read the art of war cause he got the element of surprise going for him leading up to this game

I beileve Dawson and Beck will cook something up and wil be prepared. Control the clock on offense and on defense let's see how quick Julian sayin release is when throwing.

Apparently they didn't announce the crew yet. Google is ******** up the answer because the last Cooton Bowl was on Jan 10, 2025, so if you ask about the 2025 Cotton Bowl, it give the ACC/Jerry Magallanes answer.
Thank you for walking me off the ledge.

But due to your above typo and the fact that I slept in and haven't had any coffee yet, I read that as the Cooter Bowl. Ha.

Ohio State is by far the best team we've played this year and in several years. They're run like an NFL outfit and have the players to fit the scheme. There's elite talent at all level on both sides of their team. Sayin is incredibly accurate and will limit turnovers and their FR RB has some juice to him. Their OL is really good and they run a variety of different formations and schemes which help get them favorable matchups. JJ will hit us for some yards but we need to be violent at the catch point and make them earn every yard. We cannot blow coverages and let them beat us deep, thats how we get blown out. For the love of god, don't have Toure on an island in coverage, they will eat that up all day.

With that said I actually like this matchup for Miami. The only two teams they played this year with elite Defenses held them to 14 points and 10 respectively. I think we can limit them on Offense. On the flip side, we are going to have to fight for every single yard on Offense. We need to get the running game going. They struggle with pullers going outside. I'd love to see us get our big OL out front of Fletch, Pringle, Toney on some of those types of runs. Beck is going to need to be perfect. I think we can get them with quick passes but we will need to make plays deep if we want to score TDs. Less gadget plays and more 4 yards and a cloud of dust lol. Slow developing trick plays won't work unless they're timed to perfection.

This year feels like a team of destiny for me personally but this will be the real test. If we can find a way to beat OSU I think we roll downhill into #6. Enjoy the moment, boys!

They beat a mid Texas team at home and lost to the next best team they played that was less “talented” yet destroyed them in the trenches

Somehow we are are both more talented and have better lines on both sides will get blown out

hmmmmm
