Will this game be a blow out ?

I think OSU is a bit closer to A&M in one regard: they both dodged the best teams in their conference this year.

A&M didn't play Ole Miss, UGA, Bama, Vandy, or OU.

OSU didn't play Iowa, USC, and Oregon. And when they played Indiana, they lost (on a neutral field).

We didnt play Duke.

After the bad news we just heard in ACC refs working this game , chances are very slim in getting anywhere near the red zone GEEZ for crying out loud can’t believe it we made it this far and this news @JD08 @JHallCanes .

Apparently they didn't announce the crew yet. Google is ******** up the answer because the last Cooton Bowl was on Jan 10, 2025, so if you ask about the 2025 Cotton Bowl, it give the ACC/Jerry Magallanes answer.

Ok thank you , I’m backing off the ledge waiting for my Valium to kick in with breathing exercises and Van Dame split off bed posts meditation.

As soon as the line opened it dropped 1-1.5 points almost instantly in favor of Miami which tells me people think this will be a closer game than original prognostications. If I had no affiliation to this game I would look at that initial spread and think that’s way too much, objectively speaking.
Started -10.5, jumped to -9.5 but now it’s back down to double digits at -10. It hasn’t moved much

Miami looked like the best team in the country until Louisville. If that team played OSU we are probably a 3 pt dog on a neutral field, just because they get the benefit of the doubt as the defending champs. So then the question is did Miami get exposed or did we lose due to self-inflicted dumb mistakes? I think it was mostly the latter but I understand thinking otherwise. Looks like we figured it out and are back to being the team we were at the beginning of the season. Pundits are saying it's the former, and we are the team that lost to Louisville and SMU- a big part of the problem was Beck and Dawson. And why did Miami only get 10 pts against TAMU? Beck and Dawson (and the kicker). Weather played a factor but playcalling was not good and Beck wasn't really a factor other than not throwing picks. I thought Dawson was overrated coming into this season and I think he's our biggest weakness in the postseason. A better OC could get a lot more out of Beck and this offense. Hopefully the defense plays like it did against TAMU and 10 pts will be enough.
This is very well said and I couldn’t agree more. I think Dawson is probably an okay OC who can look real good at times due to the talent Mario gives him to work with. But I think Mario is a step ahead on defense over offense when it comes to coaching acquisitions. Interested to see if Dawson has reached his ceiling for us or if he’s got another level to take it to.

My take on this game is simple. The way to beat us is to scheme to take away our pass rush. To pay us the respect we deserve and bank on the fact that you can not block us. Every team that has decided to play us straight up and didn't have a plan in place for a situation in which we were unblockable got beat, in embarrassing fashion score not withstanding.

If taint doesn't install a game plan for the possibility they can't block us then they will lose

Before the line dropped I honestly thought it was going to be Ohio St. -5 or -6. Whenever it’s your own team involved it’s easy to blow it off as bias or homerism, but I truly feel that point spread is way too high.

I said in another post that low key I was very uneasy going into the Louisville and SMU games and we saw the result. Going into the Pitt game I was confident Miami could win by a slightly better margin than the VT game. I felt very confident going into the A&M game Miami could win (not exactly the way I drew it up, lol). I feel the same way about Ohio St. Could Miami lose? Of course, unless there is a repeat(offensively vs Louisville), I don't see a blowout.

Our defense is good enough to keep it close but our offense cannot give them short fields all night.

We must win on special teams and field position.

Also our kicker needs to get back on track. Points will be hard to come by so no shanks this game please.

I've seen more pundits say Miami can win it all than that one Instagram SEC fan account that said it could be a blowout.

IMO we're peaking, and a title game appearance would not shock me.

Reasonable take. You seem like a more reasonable OSU fan than most who come on this board.

I wouldn’t expect much hospitality here but hope you stick around for a spirited debate.
Facts. He reminds me of an OSU friend of mine. He hates his own fan base because they aren't reasonable and dont include critical thinking.

We sat next to the sweetest OSU couple in Phoenix in 2003. I had to call my buddies off because they could not have been more nice.

But the way the rest of that fanbase behaved was totally disgusting and abhorrent. Part of the reason I still hate that program so much to this day.
