Rumor Will The Hurricanes Prove JP Wrong?

Until Miami actually does it, you have to bet against them year after year after year. Pate was a huge Miami fan last year and he saw Miami melt once again when they had a layup schedule. He will not be fooled again. He jumped off the bandwagon quick. Can’t blame him. All Miami has done for 20 years is lose. It’s pretty pathetic actually. Almost hard to even wrap your head around MIAMI going to 1 ACC championship game.
Exactly. Yes, we all knew Mario or any coach worth more than $3-$4 million a year had a monumental task to turn the Shalala led culture downturn from championship mentality around….but….

watching the disappointment the last few years when we were actually “good” enough to compete and then collapse in very sad ways is deflating for anyone looking to buy in.

Mario is not who I wanted to lead this thing, but I think it would have applied to anyone…and the change to perennial contender was going to be a longer term thing than any of us really wanted to believe.

Mario has done an a **** of a good job…he just may not ever be the head coach his two mentors were…but nobody really can be this day and age.

We are at least in the discussion for real now, that cannot be denied.

100% correct.

And he's not even hating in the video, he has a valid take. I don't think he trust Mario Cristobal & co and neither do a lot of fans. We couldn't even make it to the playoffs or conference game last year with 10 wins and our schedule is more challenging this year than last. The only thing I'm certain about is we will probably lose a game or 2 that we are not supposed to.

Prove everyone wrong Mario...if you actually have it in you

Discussion?

Our Canes haven't even made the ACCCG in a meaningful way.

If anyone had said July 1, 2004 Miami 21 years later would not have won even 1 ACC Championship, the ridicule would've been worse than what I get. Face it, we suck until we don't and I keep hoping this is the year especially since I don't have a bunch left to congratulate our Canes.
Nobody ridicules you. You’re a legend here my man.

He intimated that Mario texted him at around 4:30am to not put his team #1. It might have been a joke but I could believe it. He said it on Eric Mac lain & aaron Murray podcast.
Highly doubt Mario would care about this guy's (or anybody's) rankings enough for all that.

Idk if were #1 but definitely deserve #2
He was pretty vocal about Miami on that Mac & Murray podcast. I was surprised; he isn't usually that candid on his own show about some of the stuff he talked about.

I could see Mario texting him....

I'm pretty sure I've heard of things like that happening with other coaches but who knows. I'm sure Mario wouldn't tell him how to do his job.

But a little joke text when he wakes up to tell him to maybe hold off for a couple of weeks... I can see it. We've already heard from recruits that Mario texts them that early. Maybe Mario gets all of his communications outta the way 1st thing in the morning because he's so busy the rest of the day.
