Will Steele be our DC for the 23' season? Strong...?

Steele has put high level defenses on tape. he should get the benefit of doubt year one. plus he did a way better job handling the media and fanbase than Gattis did.

hoping we can get some solid man coverage on the outside and be a little more aggressive with the front 7 this year.

Steele D should look improved with the upgraded backend. He needs some more help at DT but things look up talent wise.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Steele moves on or just calls it a day with coaching. He’s like the Larry Brown of coordinators. Always on the move.
Steele leaving has been the catalyst to two programs winning a natty soon after. Clemson/Bama. I’m not superstitious but I am desperate!

If Addae returns i don’t see him having the entire db room. If he leaves that’s why. DVD looking like he’s going on field will be big with recruiting , Addae needs the help.
Is Addae returning?

Everybody was reasonably happy about the Steele hire when it happened. Hes proven. I don’t think we need a new DC. I think with majorly improved Lb and CB talent we will be much better.

I can see steele coming back for another year. then maybe retiring, but you never know.

he's a really good coach and our problems weren't because he didn't know what he was doing.

Probably 80% chance he's back as DC, and 98% chance he's back in some "todd stroud type" capacity even if he's not DC.

Addae? if he's back, i'll be shocked

Interesting analogy. Mario may have been impressed with Gattis’ fundental building rather than his game winning. Look at Michigan today. If he’s worse on gameday than the rest of the year, maybe Gattis leaves behind a good locker room.

The defense was good enough to win More games this year no doubt. But I can’t let Steele off the hook…. Our alignment issues looked d’nofro Esque at times. By the middle to end of year we were losing the play before the ball was snapped due to incompetent alignment. That’s just inexcusable

Considering how bad the defense was in 2021, they made a significant jump from terrible to just plain sucky.

Right now, they can reincarnate Buddy Ryan and it won’t matter if Gattis is still here

This.

There were scheme issues that could of easily been addressed. But, we kept seeing the same issues, week after week. There are plenty of experienced DC, who carry their own in the recruiting department, out there now. Just because Steele wasn't 'that bad' doesn't mean we should miss an opportunity to upgrade

Wasn’t everyone saying Addea was on the fast track do being a DC? Maybe Steele leaves and he and Strong coDC. Safety’s co DC with strong LB co-DC and wDVD getting a promotion to corner backs.
