Will Manny Diaz get a DC job after he gets fired as Miami HC?

Actually, Shannon did. He was the DC of the University of Florida and now is the DC of University of Central Florida.

Shannon didn’t become the real DC at UF until 2017. It took him 7 years after his firing at Miami.

Depends on how quickly it happens. If he's fired tomorrow, he's still fresh on people's minds as a DC. Wait too long and he misses his chance. James, do the right thing for Manny. Fire him now so he can land a DC job.

Wasn’t he unemployed when Richt picked him up

He was at La Tech in 2014 and Mississippi State in 2015.

Mullen could be a lifeline for Diaz (if Mullen even has an open DC job), but something seems a bit weird about hiring an in state rivals team’s recently fired head coach as your DC. Shannon as UF DC was a little different since years passed between him getting fired as Miami HC and becoming UF DC.

Shannon was never Vince Lombardi, but really he did not get a fair shot at Miami. He didn't get nearly close to the support from the admin that Golden or Richt got, for example. And he didn't get nearly as much slack. **** they fired him the first chance they could

They kept Golden around for like 5 years even though Shannon was measurably better in every way and the whole world knew how terribly overmatched he was. It took losing to Clemson by like 60 points for the admin to do anything. But Shannon? Gone in 60 seconds. But I think the university's motivation behind that is obvious as it is sad.

Shannon and Golden were basically the same. Golden got an extra year because of “the cloud”.

It seems nobody worthwhile wants you for a bit if you're fire from the HC job at Miami.

Manny will get fired and then land a DC gig at a jobber college.

I remember the big knock on Shannon was that players never developed during their time here.
