Ehh he got plenty of run cause Jordan was always hurt. But he gets open A LOT, and our QBs don’t look for him. He should be option 1 on at least 12 plays a game!

Ya know, I don't consider myself particularly knowledgeable about football, but that... that really irked me.

It's almost like, when you live in a place that never snows, and you're playing somewhere that it's really snowing, and you're marching, close to the goal line, to win the game. And instead of just running the **** ball in, you give it to your running back to throw it for a touchdown, in the **** snow. Just seems like not an especially smart approach given the circumstances.

The problem is, regardless of talent, he was not very productive his first two of those three years on the field. His drop rate was WAY too high for a man of his size.

Shockey just played with a mean streak. Boy was a bad man and I don't ever see Will having that dawg in him like that. Speed wise and catch radius, Will can match him IMO. Shockey was just a rare specimen with a will to get it done, much better blocker as well.

Shockey was 100X the TE Mallory is, in every conceivable way....not even in the same conversation....every TE that comes to UM needs to be shown Shockey vs Nebraska 02..

He's much faster than Shockey was. I would say he's more like Olsen.

He's nowhere near the upper echelon of UM TEs....not in the same ballpark.....also, he is not much Faster than Shockey...Shockey ran a 4.54 at UM, and a 4.64 at the combine at 255lbs...Mallory ran a 4.68 at 25lbs lighter....

People forget how good Shock was...he led the team in receptions in 01....He made Nebraska's LBers and secondary look like fools...just like he did against FSU in 2000....

I certainly haven't forgotten, but I do have hope that we'll get someone who tops our current best. I never thought I'd see a D lineman who'd be anywhere near the talent of Jerome Brown. Then I saw Warren Sapp.

It can happen, but he'll have to earn it.

I think Mallory can get there, even in one year. He's just a different TE than Shockey. I don't see the physicality of Shockey in him ever, but TE's have been evolving in their usage since he played.

It'll be fun to see what Mallory can do this year. If he's healthy, he should carve up defenses if his number is called like it should be.

Sapp when he wanted to be, was the most dominant DT we've ever had. A ****ed off and motivated Sapp was unstoppable.

I stand corrected. Shockey and Frank’s are my two fav TE’s to play for UM. Also loved Wille Smith. Kosar loved that guy. LOL

Shockey is a UM All time Great...and a 5 time Pro Bowler with a SB Ring...He beat FSU in 2000...and made a Mockery of Nebraska in 01....To put Mallory's name in the same sentence as Shockey is beyond retarded...Same goes for putting Mallory's name near Winslow...Franks or Olsen....Even Walford was way better....
