Will CMR motivate fans to Sun Life

I re-upped my Hurricane Club membership after a 3 or 4 year absence. I used to come down at least once a a season and will start doing so again. So guys who have season tix i'll post games I want to go to and if you're not going...let me know and I'll buy your heavily discounted tix. Up until this past season I would catch a game up here in the Carolinas or nearby. Will probably do that again as well.

Even winning doesn't solve all the problems.

When will people get it through their heads that we just don't draw unless it's FSU or a big time game.

It will always be this way. Small alumni base (whom most don't stay around So Fla upon graduating) and off campus stadiums.

Couple that with it being a pro city/beach city with a lot of citizens who give 2 ****s about football, much less college football.

The Dolphins still had a good crowd last week. We have no excuse.

Not excusing the poor attendance, but the Dolphins fanbase is composed of UM, UF, FSU fans along with fans of other cfb programs and others with no cfb affiliation at all. Much larger pool to of people to pull from than a small, private university. That said, the fact that we can sell out for big games (eslecially when we are doing well) proves that the potential is there but that a large portion of our fanbase are front-running bandwagoners..

When we were winning consistently we put a lot more butts in the seats for crappy games than we do now.

In 2002 we had 68,000 for FAMU. We had 73,000 for BC. We had 52,000 for UConn. We had 65,000 for Pitt. That's not mentioning the 76K for VT and the 81K for FSU. In 2003 we had 66,000 for East Carolina, 54,000 on Thursday night for WVU, 50K for Temple, 48K for a bad Syracuse team. And these aren't made up numbers like we have today when they count french fries and beer cups. 2004 we had 54,000 for La Tech, 64K for Louisville on a Thursday night.

We're never going to draw like ____state school, but when we win, and win consistently, we'll get 40-50K (actual fans) for bad games and sellout big games, and remember, the newly renovated stadium seats 65K and I think with the seats blocked off, it's 55K for us.

This is a town where if you win they will follow

Don't agree - the season the marlins won their first title, I had weekend season passes .....let me be clear, not season tickets just tix for games on friday, saturday and sunday
- I had one ticket and my buddy had one ticket .....in the upper deck.
- And what did we get for the massive investment of weekend games .....each of us were able to buy 3 additional tix for the playoffs and word series

Most cities - I would have have to pay an arm and a leg ---- face value that is it

Part of the problem is the schedule. The competition, outside of FSU, NC, and Notre Dame, & Clemson, are largely dogs.

Marquee games bring Marquee crowds.

Miami folks won't even support beisbol, which they claim to love.

Why would anyone support a team owned by a man who robbed billions from tax payers for his stadium. Why would we support the dyckwad who tore down a historic landmark (OB) for his ****** baisbol team. The people who complain about Miami sports fans, I feel don't know much about Miami to begin with.

LOL.. like that has anything to do with the lack of support. Jesus could own that team and people still wouldn't come out to watch them.

I don't care what Richt does with this patchwork pathetic stadium. He needs to remember the priorities from his Canes coach and start a new push, not for an on-campus venue like Howard wanted but whatever is feasible in this era. A victory there is more meaningful than anything his teams accomplish on the field.

I can't stand the thought of Sun Life and it's hilarious when the Miami athletic department sends emails touting the progress of the upgrades.

Been a season ticket holder every year since Miami moved into Sunlife (only because it was then when I moved down here from Ga). Miami has always been my favorite team (because of the swagger) UGA was and still is, second). All 8 or 9 years my tickets were in the 300 section on the 50 yard line. As soon as Richt was named HC, I immediately moved my 2 tickets to the Club Level. Richt is a great coach, something we haven't seen since Butch, JJ and Howard. He was being handcuffed by the AD at UGA. My brother is a huge booster at UGA and attends EVERY single game the Bulldogs play each year including away and bowl games. He said we just got the best DL coach in the country in Kuligowski. Don't be sad, Shalala is gone and so is Al. The future just got a whole lot brighter. Peace.

The problem isn't that we are a bad fan base. The problem is we are a small fan base. These state schools can **** near fill a stadium just with the university population.

I felt that the administration is stepping up and finally putting the $ in the program. I stepped up and bought season tickets. I will attend every home game and support this team even if they're playing Middle Southwest Saskatchewan Community College!
Go Canes!
