Will CMR motivate fans to Sun Life

We have some of the weakest fans in the Nation --- they will come up with any excuse not to go to the games.
- Love that some of you guys are now buying season tix but a ton of season tix holder just dont show up ..... either bc it is too hot, too rainy, dont like al, dont like the admin, ***** about the food, complain about parking

Show up and support this team ..... period

It's their money, they have a right to complain.

How about b!tching about the administration doing nothing to make life easier on fans. The parking is a fvckin joke.
Al Golden was a joke. The team played like a joke. Sun Life is boring as fvck.

So people are supposed to waste $ and a Saturday to watch a **** product on the field? And then deal with traffic and 20+ dollar parking fees, etc? Why not watch on HD at home on your couch? You can pause commercials, drink cost effective beer, and BBQ/grille steaks.

Go to an SEC game one weekend and you'll see how accommodating things are at those stadiums.

Stop blaming fans.

Also a lot of Miami fans don't live in Miami any longer. Ala Hurricane Andrew like myself, and various other reasons why people leave.

My god - it is 6 games ....... 6 days out of the calendar year to support your team
- NOT the NFL where you have to pay for preseason games
- NOT the NBA, Baseball or Hockey where the season is forrver
- NOT asking you to fly to ANY away games

SIX DAYS ......... less than 6% of your total weekend for the year

If you cant make that happen ----- why in god's name would you spend ANY time on this board

The base is 30K which is not bad for a private school with an undergraduate enrollment around 9K. Go look at Miami attendance historically during the good years. Most games you're drawing about 40 to 45K. Big games greater than 60K. Bad years it looks like a morgue.

Even winning doesn't solve all the problems.

When will people get it through their heads that we just don't draw unless it's FSU or a big time game.

It will always be this way. Small alumni base (whom most don't stay around So Fla upon graduating) and off campus stadiums.

Couple that with it being a pro city/beach city with a lot of citizens who give 2 ****s about football, much less college football.

The Dolphins still had a good crowd last week. We have no excuse.

Win, then bring in a quality opponent and the fans will show up. Lose, or play a team nobody cares about seeing (Duke, NC State, most OOC punching bags, etc.) and empty seats will continue to dominate.

You do realize we have to play duke every year right...
Of course I do. And, the fans will NEVER turn out for a game against Duke. We payed Temple and Rutgers every year in the Big East. Nobody cares to see them. So, yeah, we have to play Duke, but don't expect the fans to turn out for a Duke game EVER.

This is the formula for good attendance - Miami has to be good, and the opponent has to be perceived to be attractive to the fans. That is the whole thing right there. It has always been that way, and it has not one thing to do with fan loyalty.

I went to Tally and had to park on top of a parking garage a mile away from the closest bathroom. Give me our parking every time.

Yes it does. That's why our fan base sucks even though it offends you to hear. If conditions have to be perfect for this team to get support from the fans then that's pathetic. We do have loyal fans but those are few and spread throughout the country.

Slow down. It's impossible to offend me by saying our fan base sucks since I don't give a rat's *** about our fan base. All I'm saying is that big attendance at UM games does not come from any loyal fan base, and never has. Big attendance at UM games comes from a game's perceived entertainment value, not loyalty to UM.

Ya I guess I get you on that but even our big games no one comes too. So that immediately disproves your point though. I think people just need to realize that Miami isn't a place where most people make a life. They live there and then move on. Like nationally out fanbase is huge, you can find hurricanes fans in every city in every state, but most of which wouldn't be able to make it to games. I'm from Tampa and originally from Miami, I'm not going to lie a four hour drive to watch your team play is pretty rough ,but I'll make it because I'm diehard, I can only imagine people out of state though. Especially when it cost money to travel and not everyone has that.

I agree and believe this thought process impacts stadium, scheduling and other related discussions.

Now explain why less than 30,000 people showed up for some games when we were the best team in the country.

Came back to renew for 2016, four tix...

Over the last several seasons, I have read posts after posts that state if a better coach and product is put on the field they will come to Sun Life and support The Canes!

Will the fans come and support The Canes in 2016!

I just can't believe there is enough fans to make the Dolphins stadium look good on t.v. but we can't fill half. The Dolphins are a much worse product for a much larger price. I love them but the Canes always get my money first.

It will look better regardless. Miami will be playing in the upgraded sunlife stadium and I think the u banners will be behind each endzone outside of the big game matches. Mark richt has star power so I'm pretty sure he will encourage Miami fans to pack the stadium. He was VERY big on that at Uga

when you win, you draw.

Nope...only if big money is being given away, and you have free transportation to and from and offer a free lotto ticket.
