Will 2015 be Golden's most talented team?

Am I crazy or do we have a suitable replacement for every departing starter?

Duke - Yearby

Denzel - Kirby

Walford - Dobard

Dorsett - Scott

Flowers - KC McDermott

Gunter - Elder

Feliciano - Darling

McDermott - Linder

Armbrister - Owens

Fentress - Jenkins

Pierre - Kamalu

Chickillo - Thomas

No. That was this year.

Agreed.

I fully expect a lot of guys coming out early and the existing recruiting class to evaporate.

What guys could come out early though?

Duke, Flowers, maybe Bush. Nobody else is getting drafted imo.

Respectfully, Im not really going to engage the discussion at this level. I think you will see a handful of underclassmen make a decision to come out that might not be in their immediate best interests. But that's what happens when you live and work in a toxic environment - bad moves are better than no moves to folks in that type of situation.

No. This year was.

Next year begins the steady decline that comes when the community has you figured out and refuses to send their kids to you to waste.

He's got no more fake dreams, hope and clouds to sell to anyone. Last person out shut off the lights.

QB progression is the key. If Kaaya progresses then 2015.
Redshirting players should help too.

That's the gospel truth right there Franchise. When community KNOW you fake & you ain't ****

Lots of people said the 2001 team wouldn't be as talented as the 2000 team. Same thing in 1987. No way we'd replace all the talent we lost and win a title. There are a LOT of examples of teams being "less talented" going into a season, only to be quite a bit better due to a position or two improving.

In our case, Kaaya being experienced could make a huge difference. Remember, he didn't get here until weeks before the season started. Now, he's had a full season, bowl prep, spring, summer, and fall camps going into next season. That's really big. Now, do I think we'll win anything meaningful next year? No. However, I can see Kaaya winning some games next year that we lost this year, just due to his experience.

I think we're deeper in 2015

DE Kamalu - Jenkins - Patchan

NT Woatelou - Wyche - Moore

DE Thomas - Moten - Hamilton

LB AQM - Harris - Jackson

LB Kirby - Young - Smith

LB Grace - McCray - Perry

LB McCord - Owens - Gordinier

CB Burns - Howard - Mayes

CB Elder - Crawford - Jackson

SS Bush - Crawford - Gayot

FS Carter - Jenkins - Johnson

Rashawn Scott needs to step up and hopefully Herb Waters does whatever he needs to do to stay on the field. Coley can't be relied on to lead that group at this point.

Notwithstanding Flowers returning or declaring, OL is in pretty good shape with some versatility in Linder and Darling. I think Feliciano was overrated for a stalwart, same with Chickillo on the other side.

Rashawn Jenkins returning will be nice. Bush and Jenkins is a much better combo than anything Miami trotted out back there this year.

Not even close.

2011 was his most talented roster followed by this year.

He had the advantage of the kids from Shannon's last good recruiting class (his second one).

This is Golden's most talented roster......recruited in his second year.

Hmmmmmm.....

Does coaches get a boost in recruiting by playing the "previous coach sucked and you will win with me game"?

2011?

Can you name all the guys on that team who currently play in the NFL as more than a 3rd stringer?

Miller - yes
Vernon - yes
Benjamin - yes
Ford - .......
Spence - yes
Gunn- ....
Regis .......
Henderson - yes
Hurns -
Linder - no

You named 5 guys out of a whole roster

Duke
Dorsett
Walford
Flowers
Perryman

Was Colin McCarthy 2010 or 2011? he would be another one. Im thinking he was 2010 though

The real question should be:

Will the corching staff underachive to a greater degree, in 2015.

I say ABSOLUTELY.

Waters and Scott have the talent. They're both good enough to get drafted.

If Kaaya takes another big step and we land at least two stud RBs I think the answer is yes. With a competent coach we would be an ACC favorite.

It's lights out once the community loses hope and trust in you and realizes you've been selling them a bag of lies.

Keeping Al Golden is simply untenable at that point. Can't comprehend why that's hard for UM BOT to recognize that and MOVE on it!
