So last year I pulled a muscle in my neck while doing yard work specifically cutting trees and after a day and a half of not being able to turn my neck side to side and pain I went to my doctor where I got an MRI which was negative but he put me on a neck brace and anti-inflammatories for the next three days until I can actually move my neck again. it's not uncommon to put somebody in the neck brace that has a strained muscle
