It’s mind blowing , back then it was unfathomable
Bad hires and out of state schools (Bama, OSU etc) raiding our talent is a bad mix! Back then most kids wanted to stay home, today not so much. TV has changed the game.

91 game is an all time Miami-FSU match and there have been many. McGuire - one of the most underrated players even though he is acknowledged was a beast. Big physical and punishing back.. Would love to see if Thad become McGuire like in the future. I dislike FSU but respect them. Unlike the Gators they play us and dislike us but certainly respect us.

Those 91&92 games were classics. The boys said the difference was the Canes knew they would find a way to win, the Noles we’re hoping. Steven is a
NYC police officer and I believe he recently recovered from Covid. Good dude, great Hurricane

Had 2 of his best games against the Noles in 90&91. Knee injury against BC late in 91 hampered rest of his career here. Wasn’t the hardest worker in practice but came to play when it counted.
If you can only bring one, I'll take game day ever time.

Agree on game day. A quote from a teammate: “Steven was a guy that wasn’t the fastest, wasn’t the quickest, wasn’t that shifty but hand him the rock and he just produced at a high level, always finishing each carry” The 91 OL was superior to 92 and that was proven at Penn State and Bama among other games. Searcy was a huge loss.

The last 5 minutes of that 2002 game were unbelievable. The McGahee screen play, Taylor's hit on PK Sam that should have been a fumble, Capshaw's unbelievable 7 yard punt that gave FSU a chance, the miracle blind lob Rix made when he was getting sacked and an FSU player somehow came down with it, then Wide Left. Crazy.

They didn't show headset guy, wonder what happened to him? Also Mickey Andrews massaging his massive ***** was hilarious...

I was at that game, first row right behind FSU bench.. which really isn't a great place to sit because of all the big dudes standing right in front of you. Anyway, the miss and then getting to run up thru all the asshat fans screaming my head off was one of my best game moments ever. My buddies and I ran around to the field exit which was way different back then and climbing the fence to hang over it and high five the players as they came off the field. I've been to tons of games back to the 70's, including national championship wins, and nothing game time comes close to how happy I was at the end of that game.
