Why UVA Loses the Coastal

Not only do they have a bye, but we’re on a short week. VT on Saturday then UVA on Friday. The only silver lining is that both those games are at home. But make no mistake, that’s a big advantage for UVA. Aside from the VT game to end the year, they know the biggest game for them of the entire season is the Miami game. They get 13 days to prepare. Miami gets 6.
Why is game on Friday? TV? Not a fan of Friday games. :hammering-head:

It hadn't occurred to me that UVA might win the Coastal, but I appreciate you doing all that work.

And in my 2 trips to UVA for games, I can confirm that the fans are really nice.
Well, they're just the favorite by every media outlet's account. Where you been? I think we win it but they are the favorite because their QB had a good year in 2018 and has the best stats of any returning starter in the Coastal.

Perkins hade a great 2018, but I'm not as convinced for his 2019 campaign. He doesn't have a 1,000 yard running back to rely on anymore and lost his most talented and impactful receiver. His OL is also weaker, and they were not great last year, to begin with.

I think what really holds Perkins back from being elite is his awful throwing mechanics. He's gotten better, but there's a lot left to be desired there. Teams also have a year of film on him and, like with Malik, I think will be able to figure out ways to stop him. He's deadly in the run game but increases his chances of injury the more involved he gets.

We win this game by having an average competent offense. We would have won last year had we been able to score more than 16 points.

It's not that I was unaware of the media picking UVA, it's just that I think it's a silly pick.

I totally agree. He won't have any kind of game against us. Although they won, we had his number last year and I think he'll do worse against us this year.

I was just pointing out why the media thinks UVA will win the Coastal.

He did not win that game for them

12-21 for 96 yards with 0TDs and 3 interceptions. 61 yards rushing 0TDS
Lmao, so let's just take him away and see what happens.
He won the game, he's the QB, he won. It's football and, yes, it is what it is. Don't fabricate false ideas to make yourself feel better.

Their sorry *** JUCU QB beat us.

So, because of the strength of our division, yes Virginia is a contender, and yes because we're putting a 1st year starter who happens to be a RS Freshman, behind center, the college football world has a lack of faith in our offense. So much of a lack of faith, that many believe there's a possibility that we won't outscore them, again this year.

Its not crazy to think of when you focus of the facts and not just the notion that you only know what is halfway going on with UM football. It's called being a fan.

I also believe that we'll win the coastal, but until I see our team take the field next weekend, I'm just another believer, because the reality is...NO ONE knows what to expect from our offense because there are just too many variables for us to even compare to last season. Many of which are positive, and many of which are just gray areas or questionable.

I certainly hope Enos turns the offense around. I certainly hope Jarren Williams is the answer at QB (we haven't had one in God knows how long). I certainly hope that our offense line uses the experience we have and figures out how to protect our QB. I certainly hope our playmakers stay healthy and out of trouble.

We'll see.

I think it all comes down to our head to head matchup. We get UVA at home on a Friday night game.

We play Va Tech at home the week prior. UVA has a bye week. Big advantage for them given the short week. That said, If we light up Hard Rock as only Canes fans can do, that could be the difference in the game. This is why Ive chosen this to be one of the two games I'm flying across the country for this season.

Bronco is a very solid football coach, but UM plays them at home on a prime time setting. Last year they beat the Canes, when they played one of the absolute worst offensive games of recent memory

This is the kinda game I expect Diaz to win regularly
