Why the UM Push for 2015 LB Mohamed Barry (KSU Commit), his highlights look good but there are several local south Florida kids with similar or better highlights?

This makes no sense to me, but maybe someone else on here can enlighten me as to why Staff would pass up local S. FLA kids to pursue Barry who is a 6-foot-1, 210-pound safety/outside linebacker from Loganville, Ga. (Grayson HS) who had offers from K-State, Georgia State, Marshall, N.C. State, USF, Syracuse, Wake Forest and more.

Barry was dropped/encouraged to move on by Wisconsin due to academic concerns which is why K-State has emerged (Bill Synder can get practically anyone into KSU).

Article on Barry being slow played by Wisconsin. It sounds like Wisconsin gave him an Academic bench mark to meet for the fall mid-term an he missed it so they started to part ways.

So with UM's admission standards being higher than Wisconsin's, why in gods name would staff waste time and recruiting resources on trying to flip this kid from KSU.

If Miami is going to try an take a flyer on a out of state kid with bad grades but good potential that can play in space as a DB/LB hybrid then it should be current Ok-State commit 2015 S/OLB Kevin Henry from Central HS in Louisiana (an also teammate of current UM Commit 2015 WR Terrell Chatman) , this would also solidify Chatman's commitment.

Kevin Henry has been interested in Miami for a while but UM has been slow playing him. Henry was dropped by LSU as results of class size an higher rated prospects on their board become priority. Henry is a monster compared to Barry and it is not even close, but I still think you take florida kids first before either of these two.

Lol he is stud what locals are better then him

Don't get me wrong I think Mohamed is very good player in space and coming of the edge (those Georgia boys can play some ball), but if you can find those same skill sets in your S. FL. backyard then you take the local kid.

Here are two south Florida kids that have been discussed as of late that are of equal talent to out of state UM prospects Mohamed Barry & Kevin Henry

2015 OLB Adrienne Talan from Flanagen

Maybe it's cause all the local kids know that Golden and his loverboy DC are clowns. Maybe he can fool some out of town kids?

We have no idea where on the board he is. We are in the home stretch. If you have needs that aren't filled, reach far and wide. My guess is both Knowles and Talan get offered as well.

I'm fine with the whole locals first but I also don't know of anyone with his talent in south Florida. I don't care cause this kid looks explosive as ****.

Knowles Miami is interested in just have to see how his grades are/finish.

I agree about Barry being athletic and rangy, an as the other poster mentioned above the local kids may know about Golden's tomfoolery so going out of state where the U brand is still very strong does make sense.
