Why the polls are a joke

Your response implied that a SWAG was blind guess (such as in the metaphor I used, throwing darts). Instead, you argued that it was a scientific, mathematic analysis of power ranking (emphasis added for the simple minded). Which I added, after that computation is done, the final step is an estimate, in other words, a guess (aka SWAG).

Jesus Christ; Can I simply explain why CU is ranked slightly ahead of us?

CU’s schedule thus far:
-@ #17 TCU
-Nebraska
-Colorado St (Rivalry)

3-0 vs. 2 P5 & 1 G5

Miami’s schedule thus far:
-Miami OH
-#23 A&M
-BCU

3-0 vs. 1 G5, 1 P5, 1 FCS

It’s that simple; CU actually got docked for being in a tight game w/ CSU, but their SOS is currently ranked 37th, while ours is ranked 56th, thus far.

The reason why UO is favored heavily against CU is b/c:

1. UO have been beating the chit out of their opponents to start the season, but they also haven’t played any team worth a ****. They have the 103rd ranked SOS, thus far.

2. Some pundits are not completely sold on CU

3. CU’s O struggled for some time against a CSU Def that’s not world beaters AFTER they lost arguably their best player in Hunter (who’s not playing against UO).

That doesn’t mean the polls are jokes b/c of a spread; the polls are jokes this time of the year b/c most teams won’t show their true mantle until conference play begins. A contender can lose a game in September, catch fire to end the season, & be in the CFP. On the other hand, a team can be hot in September - early October, & the wheels come off come late October - November.

All we gotta do as a fan base IS STOP WORRYING ABOUT OTHER TEAMS WHO WE DON’T PLAY, & FOCUS ON US AND WHO WE PLAY! That’s it. I swear to God there’s a new thread daily about something that has no bearing on us IF WE TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN BUSINESS.
 
preseason rankings have always been a sham and always will. Colorado is only ranked because the clown has brought the circus to Boulder and mainstream media just has to talk about it. I would give "coach" Sanders credit if he was actually coaching any players that were on the team last year but he isn't

Except that I am the one who had to point out that math and power ratings are the primary drivers for the initial line. Your first post simply said it’s a guess. Now you have to walk that back when you realize that I am a lot more accurate than you.

By the way, 2001 called and wants its “reading comprehension” jab back. Maybe ask your friends on MySpace if they are still using that line as well.
 
Vegas had Colorado losing to TCU by 20 and losing at home to Nebraska by 7 before the season started. They were off by 45 points combined. Vegas does lose many times.

LOL, Vegas doesn’t lose because the point spread was way off. In fact, they probably won pretty big.

As a rule, I generally don't participate in callout threads because eventually, some moron will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. I really couldn't give a sh*t if your ego-boosting compulsion to feel you're right exceeds your limited ability to make inferential and evaluative assessments in a language as nuanced as English.

I suggest an adult study course to help you deal with your learning disability.
