Why the hype about Sanders?

He must be charismatic like Mario

U know people are allowed to have charisma even more than one person. Now DS has to do that vs saban mario and Kirby and u have to get the most to win big. Elite kids make u look like u know what your doing

It’s FAMU and Coach Simmons’s time now! Jackson State was our only SWAC loss the last two years. Never should’ve put us in the same division in the first place, imo. Those would’ve been fire 🔥 SWAC championship games, the last two years.
I want Willie to do the same thing Prime did with recruiting and the portal. A lot of guys in the portal won’t have a home so why not the highest of hills

Simmons is doing his thing. If he keeps winning he’s next up. If FAM never left the meac they would be in the celebration bowl the past 2 years

Every coach does that though. Isn’t that’s how we lost that WR to Landon Ibietha to LSU last year or the 6’7 GA olinemen, Falentha Carswell? They weren’t priorities to Mario.

Remember Phillip Buchanon's cousin or nephew? Committed to Shannon, had to go the prep school route, Shannon got fired, Buchanon's cousin or nephew called Golden to see if He still had a scholarship, and Golden said, "Who you folk?"...LOL.

Jeesh. You would have thought that in 2011 Golden would have taken just about anyone. He had two players still committed when he took over and took several flyers that cycle - why non on Buchanon's cousin or nephew.

His name was Jeremy Davis, think He ended up at UCF, don't know what happened to Him after that. We took Finnie that cycle, Finnie had a solid freshman season, and then the whole thing happened with Him stealing a computer out of a kid's dorm and trying to sell it back to Him, dumb ***.

Hahaa. Yea it’s like that man. Some coaches are really messed up with it. I knew an athlete who was transferring into a program. He went on a visit was greeted by all the coaches. They were hyping him up.m, so he committed. The coach that recruit him was the DC. The DC was unfortunately laid off so the elevated one of the position coaches. He called the position coach/new DC to see if they would honor his commitment/scholarship, dude told him “I don’t know you, you was the previous coach recruit not my recruit… If you want you can potentially participate in our walk-on tryouts on a future date.” Crazy thing is the new DC was hosting him at different points throughout his visit. Just because they are coaches don’t mean they are ethical people. That being said, new coaches come in with their staffs and players all the time. It depends on how they share the news.

Philip still holds a grudge against UM for that, and a few more incidents I won't discuss. Wouldn't even show up for his UM HOF Induction dinner.

Wow. I can imagine. Although it was funny how the poster quoted it, I imagine it was far more serious. Unfortunately it happens everywhere. Didn’t his nephew have a good career at UCF anyway?

Not entirely sure. But I was supposed to sit at his table for the HOF Ceremony....but it was canceled for a yr because of Covid. (Was to be held indoors at Airport Hilton I believe) The following yr I was too busy to attend due to move from Orlando to SWFla....and that's when he pulled a No-show.

Charisma is a **** of a drug.. And he got receipts he wasnt a square type from wayyyy back.. He was the epitome of what any youth can relate to, braggadocios, charasmatic, gold wearing, music makin, silver tongue, trend setting, nike/espn propaganda machine having, dual sport, high steppin, Ima talk **** saying Im gonna score, go out and do it and then dance in the endzone cuz you couldnt stop me, dominate half the field, dont even have to go to the huddle, I can suck at tackling and still get praised, etc.. And its all on film, tape, wax, etc.

We have benefits from a coach who can recruit, Deion is that and more being a NFL HOF, super bowl winner, look like the player that he most likely recruits, can talk similar like them, knows where they come from and can relate and understand their perspective. Plus he has always been a showman/salemen, so the glove fits
This

Im not excusing his tackling but thats way down on the list of things I worry about when ranking or watching corners
Couldn’t stand the clown. He did shut down one side of the field though…just didn’t throw there.

Lots of great CB. Woodson, green….

As for coaching? Had more talent because than teams he played against. Relates to kids because he has the same mindset?

CIS suicide here but I'm siding with fragile here and his OP. Nothing compares to fraggle rock if you were born in the mid to late 70s. Fraggle rock was ground breaking entertainment for us. To **** with the original OP substance. It's the trip down memory lane I'm riding with. I'm sporting tears right now just thinking about Saturday morning all those yrs ago. I vaguely remember some dude from the falcons I saw live once in Miami who called himself prime or primo or some crap like that but I was not enamored. Any who. Thanks for the memories OP. Sorry for getting emotional

Unfortunate. The Colorado commits that Deion dumped late, not honoring the scholarships.

I'm not shocked, Deion is who he is. We all understand that in a coaching change, the incoming guy may not want to hold onto the class he has, because of what they perceive to be a bad fit. Most coaches find a way to find homes for those that he doesn't want, or at the very least , honor the scholarship, while giving a fair appraisal of what that players' long term prospect in the program is. Most players, if they are told to seek opportunities elsewhere, will do so, because players want to play. It was poorly handled by Deion, but it isn't a surprise.

What's funny about Deion is that he's seen as the unquestioned GOAT as a DB, but no one has ever asked whether someone like Mike Haynes, a guy that could cover as well as Deion, and was actually useful in the run game could be just as good. The difference between Deion and guys like Woodson, Night Train Lane, Haynes, and other elite corners was that he was flashy and a media darling. I don't believe the gap between Deion and the other elite corners is as large as his jock sniffers think.
