Why Roster Management Matters

Love what the staff has done overall, night and day difference from the previous bums.

Great post overall, but if Dean is good enough to leave early, why would it be a "great thing" for him to leave? Fvck that, we need as much talent and depth as possible every year. As great as the '18 class is, if Dean ends up being that good, I want Richt to do everything in his power to get that kid to stay another year.

if all goes well and they perform how we expect them too.

Dean, Delaney, Young, and Bandy mannnnnnn

Recruiting is always a two year proposition

People overlook this fact. Also, given that fact that it is a two year proposition, it's important to have elite classes back-to-back.

At best, when it comes time to make a run, you want your Juniors and Sophomores leading the campaign with several immediate contributors in the freshmen class to put you over the top.

Given these observations, with an elite 2018 class, our 2018 season should be heck of a ride with a team of savages ('16, '17 & '18 savages on deck)!!!!

In what world could Dean "easily" decide to go pro after next season???

Key word is "could." It's not likely, but it could happen. Actually any of our JRs could technically ball out and go pro.

entire subject of the thread is weird and pointless. The coaches arent doing anything magical with the roster to make the 2018 class want to commit??? the way the db roster is setup is bc Edwards and Henderson didnt commit. They moved Michael Jackson to safety bc they feel that's where he is best at.

None of these things have anything to do with making sure the 2018 dbs "feel" like we need them immediately. That is already a given and the coaches have said they dont want entitled kids who are only concerned with the depth chart. They have to compete with each other anyway, Dean is going to stay two seasons at minimum so these what if scenarios are just some **** yall are doing for personal enjoyment nothing to do with reality.

And the other positions?

Love what the staff has done and continue to do but we got d1cked at the RB position with Yearby prematurely leaving, Gus in the air, McFarland taking the bag$.

WR we straight. Great additions by staff. Hopefully Mullins shows up.

QB no one has emerged yet, should we be worried?

O line can use some work, LB can use depth if one of our 3 studs go down, wish a couple more serviceable DT's (Is Jenkins staying?).

Staff is doing great all considering.

Jenkins got kicked out.... but don't worry according to OP it's all about roster management so we can get the top DT's in 2018... lol

lol. You're finally seeing the light. I know you a little slow on the uptake but Richt's management of the CB dilemma has been masterful. DT is gonna be another potential pitfall if we lose everyone to the NFL. But i trust Kool. Don't you?
