Why Richt won't abandon a pro style set!

I don't think this offense is 100 percent pro style tbh. But to answer your question I don't think he can, he doesn't have the ability to scheme a offense that can compete with Bama and OU for example.

"So why not go to the spread as Miami’s primary offense? Though he uses the spread some, Richt simply feels more comfortable using a lot of what he calls a pro-style offense, with a power running game."

Who the Fock are we trying to please here? So UM's offense can't be geared up & modified to suit South Florida high school kids skill set with the spread, because CMR doesn't feel comfortable calling it. So we are stuck in the 80's because that's all CMR knows.

Signed,

Peruche

Richt runs exactly what he wants to run. And he came to Miami to run it.

He’s not changing his scheme. He’s not hiring someone else to implement another offense. He’s going to recruit and coach what we’ve seen the past 3 years. And he’ll eitter acquire the talent necessary to make it work, or he won’t. But he ain’t changing his stripes.

Especially not when Alabama, UGA, Michigan, and LSU are top 10 teams using similar systems. Richt, absolutely, thinks he can win running his idea of pro-style.

Richt is a pretender. His prostyle offense resembles a prostate gland exam stance. His ****ing prostyle offense consists of all 6 plays from 30 years ago. He prefers a production of 5.84 ypc as opposed to 10.84 ypc and more players getting to touch the ball, cause it’s good for recruiting? It’s good for NFL preparation? The man suffers from dimentia, confirmed. Someone needs to Baker act this guy. We’re living ina bizzarro world.

Our recruiting class (at this point) is worse than Virginia's....let that sink in.

I mean his version of "pro style" will soon be extinct, if not already. A perfect compromise would be to implement a pro-style spread attack ala Matt Canada, in which the tight ends are involved and you can still implement a power run game using shotgun and pistol sets. Think of a hybrid between Canada and Mike Norvell's respective offenses. He won't though because at this point, Richt is more concerned with showing that he won't bow to public pressure as opposed to winning football games. Ive said this repeatedly. Mark Richt is not concerned with winning if he can't win HIS way with HIS offense with HIS coaches and HIS son teaching QBs how not to be competent football players.

Richt's offense is as much a pro style as Navy.

You cannot find a pro offense anywhere in the world running like Richt runs his O. A pro offense is not taking 6 plays from a 300 page play book and running them over and over.

Sucks to say but Richt is too old and stubborn to change. He has coached 1 way his whole life and isn't about to change that in his 60's at his last gig before retirement, especially if it means firing his son and giving up playcalling (2 of the absolute biggest reasons he took the UM job). Said it before and i'll say it again:

RICHT IS GOING OUT HIS WAY. EITHER HE'LL WIN CALLING PLAYS WITH HIS OLD SCHOOL 80'S OFFENSE AND SON AT HIS SIDE OR HE'LL RETIRE IN THE KEYS WITH A NICE LIL $20M BUYOUT. Nice lil win win situation for Richt...

**** is infuriating.

Acknowledges the run gane was better w the spread, bur whatever.

Thinks pro style is better for recruiting, but can't even land a QB recruit. Meanwhile, spread and routinely goung in the first round. One is the mvp candidate this year.

He. Does. Not. Care.

Richt wants to run pro-style offense but he doesn't have the O-line to do it.

Richts offense looks good when he has a solid OL, Aaron Murray tossing dimes, and when he can hand it off to Todd Gurley.

Problem is we have none of the 3.

It's turned into a vicious downward spiral. Pro-style should attract recruits (ex. Fields says he prefers pro style team) but the results on the field suck so then big time recruits (like Fields, Hasselwood) dont come. Recruiting sucks, results on field get worse. Rinse and repeat. If Richt refuses to change, either we need the few recruits we did land to all be studs or we need a dominant QB (personally think Jarren is this team's only real hope over the next 1-2 years barring some lucky QB transfer). Insanely frustrating to watch it play out...

Kind of important if you're going to run the pro-style offense that you have good, not just adequate O-linemen. Big strong types with good footwork that can create a little space and push when you need it, precicesly because you have all those bodies bunched up in there.

So far the Pro-set, even coming off a 10-win season when we had the momentum hasn't deposited more than one or two (optimistically). Or am I missing them?
