When kids go to Alabama it will always be about Saban he makes Alabama. Miami has always been about the GREAT players no matter who the coach is. 20 years from now the 30 for 30 will be about Saban. If we want to be back we need to have dawgs on both sides of the field, players make their name here for college and the pros.

I fully believe when these kids look back 30 years from now they would regret going to Bama over Miami. Miami offers so much more being in the diverse city and the degree is much better. Bama is a shortsighted decision more of an in the moment type.

You can succeed and get paid in the NFL going to Miami just the same.

Right now the big difference is winning in college is an advantage over Miami.

But if Neal, Bogle, Stevenson, Richards, Summerall, join Huff and Smith and Harvey Miami will be able to compete at a very high level imo.

Its 2018. PLayers in all sports at all levels go to the best teams. In highschool they go to IMG or if they play basketball they go to Oak Hill and **** like that. In NCAA its Bama, UGA for football and Duke for basketball. In the NBA is the warriors. The only play you dont see that at is the NFL and its because the contracts there suck for players and they gotta take the money cant be sacrificing for winning as much. The only way Bama stops getting everyone is for them to stop winning. The only way for us to get everyone is for us to start winning.

There is more than enough talent for Bama to get theirs, we all know they always will, and our program to be successful.

Guys like Surtain, Campbell and Jeudy are fine players and will play at the next level. But Bama is winning titles by accumulating massive amounts of talent from around the country, especially on their offensive and defensive lines and at linebacker.

They have 4-5 Star guys backing up 4-5 star guys. If one gets hurt, transfer or just quit like Thomas just did they just shrug and plug in another guy who's probably just as talented.

Kids have bought into the lie that if you go to Bama you are definitely going to make it to the Pro’s and if you make it to the Pro’s you will make more money than you will ever need and after your playing career is over you can retire and never work again.

Very few of them realize all of the 4 and 5 star players that never make it or wind up later transferring. And they also don’t realize that if you look at the NFL opening day rosters Bama was tied with UM for number of players on NFL rosters and there were a couple of other teams that had more.

They don’t think about that Bama degree doesn’t mean **** any where outside of Bama.

Personally, I don't care what any of the above reasons mean, or if any of them have great, some, or no, validity. The one thing I know is that we won't be back to what we once were until we start winning the recruiting battles that for too long have seen sofla players going to Bama, other SEC schools, or other programs

The only recruiting battles we need to win are on the defensive and offensive lines and qb. There are enuff high level db's, receivers in Miami and South Florida to go around. People keep harping on guys like surtain and campbell, we still had a better secondary than than those teams did.

At the end of the day, nobody plays more exciting football than a legit Miami squad, NOBODY!

That bama brand is dominating these kids psyche fellas.
The U needs to win on the field and hire a **** marketing firm that targets young adults and teens.
I can guarantee that bama and Clemson have. There also has to be a some traction and teeth to this U network and it has to be on point. There better be time shares opportunities , jobs, yacht club memberships, fishing charter offers, hunting trips concert tickets, etc.... something for everyone after they graduate. Get a real big and shiny brochure showing all the benefits of being a member like AMEX does. I ain’t even playing around. Show one of our not so famous former players chilling in an all inclusive in Cozumel courtesy of the U network or whatever they want to call it. I’m sure the business school has plenty and I mean plenty of ability and contacts to make it happen.

we also need a decent coach, players don't want to play for losers who cant coach

you get a better football education at Alabama right now than you do here, it’s jot even close (right now) with this mickey mouse staff on offense. If you want to be a lawyer you’re gonna go to schools like harvard or Chicago etc over FAU

If a recruit is 18 now, and started watching Miami when they were 6 (since 2006), in 12 years he'll have seen:

7 7 Wins or less seasons (8 if we lose our Bowl game this year)
3 Coaches fired
3 Top 25 teams
2 Bowl wins
1 10 win season
1 ACC Coastal Title
0 Top 10 teams

Forget Alabama - that's about the same resume as Pitt

I’d be interested to see how the guys who didn’t make the pros fair in life with a degree from Miami vs a degree from Bama. Not too much different would be my guess.

This awesome education from Miami doesn’t mean quite as much with a communications degree.
