Why oldtime Canes fans hate gators the most

The only time UF fans think about Miami (FL) is when we play FSU, when 90%+ of UF fans will be rooting for us.

These days it's basically a one way rivalry where Miami (FL) fans hate UF, and UF fans don't care about Miami (FL) one way or the other.

Maybe it was different in the 70s. I'm not that old.

Not true at all. We live in their heads rent free. You have no clue.

One of their biggest fears is our resurgence. That will have a negative impact on them, their perceived status in the state, recruiting, all of it. It's something that's been building since we won our first championship. Apparently you don't get it.

They suffer from little brother complex, big time.
 
Wow, I had never seen that, just one more reason to blow them out every time we meet for the rest of eternity!

Yeap, we be old. The good part of that is we got to live through the Fins' glory years or the Perfect Season and all the Cane glory. Now we get our shot at the third patch of Hurricane glory. Being old sucks, but being an old fan from Miami makes if worthwhile. Plus, the chicks have ALWAYS be frigging hot here -- and never wore much by way of clothes. Heck, in the early 70's Dade Junior north campus had more hot chick than most SEC campuses today -- cut off short, mini skirts, halter tops and not a bra to be seen. Life was good.

Well, you're still young and nothing replaces youth. Enjoy it so you have memories when you are old. The Canes have another run in them so make all you can of it.

Ask UF fans what they think about Miami (FL) and they will collectively shrug. They have two hated rivals, FSU and UGA. They would probably rank Tennessee well ahead of us in terms of rivalry as well. If we were playing any of those teams, UF fans would all be rooting for us. It's a dopey one sided rivalry. I don't waste my time thinking about what they are up to in Gainesville.
 
No offense but I don't need any reasons to hate the gators. It's an innate feeling
