There is no possible argument against hiring him right now. He can evaluate the program get started on the rebuilding process and decide which recruits are worthy.

The only explanation would be $. That's the reason Golden won't be fired when we'd like him to be. That's the only thing I can think of that's in the way. BJ trying to not take as big of a hit regarding his payout.
 
Only logical reason to not fire Golden right now is that there is no assistant on staff worthy to promote as interim coach. Kehoe? Harris? The coordinators are as much of the problem as Al.

Let Fraulden finish his year of INCOMPETENCE, and save on the buyout. Have HC-in-waiting Butch take over recruiting immediately.

Hire Butch as interim AD. Then he can personally fire Al's *** on the day the $$$ drop. In the mean time, he can be on the frigging practice field everyday. That would fix everything.

im sorry i dont trustfuente, herman i have hope cuz dude is locking da backyard of houston n getting five stars at a piece of **** school like houston. i still wantbutch but wouldnt be mad at herman, anyone else n im dome with everything miami, they have to show me they want to win and a beast hire will make me believe.

im like soooo fkin mad man, cuz its to easy to see butch there n u could get him cheap n u know he would kill it here.

Makes too much sense. Why not at least hire him as interim and give him a chance to prove himself if you don't want to commit to hiring him outright.

Because it will never happen. I wish it would, but it never will. The insane blathering about butch coming back simply proves you are all insane. It will not happen. It just won't. Your high school girlfriend also will never f you again. Get over it. And see a therapist.

The field of choices is a lot more narrow than you may realize. Every day that goes by, Butch increasingly becomes the only logical choice.
