Why is Winston Moss never mentioned as a HC candidate?

So hire a guy who has never run a college program for one day in his life. Sounds like a plan.

"Running a college program" is highly overrated. He's been qualified enough to have NFL teams consider him to be their HC. Golden "ran a college program" prior to coming here, how has that worked out. Moss would be 10x more qualified than Randy was.

The qualifications to run a college program are completely different from the qualifications to coach linebackers. Two different worlds. Do you really want to bring him in just to find out that the job of managing the whole program doesn't fit his skill set?

There are a thousand guys more qualified than Winston Moss. Or are you one of those guys who thinks that Michael Irving should be the next school president.

WTF is wrong with you...IT IS IRVIN motherfukker....IRVIN!!!!!

OMG. You missed the joke, bro.

Top 10 program right now, and wouldn't come down for what we're offering. It would be easy for MSU to just match or give him a raise if he doesn't already make more than Golden. Next?

It's not my thread and I'm not searching for a head coach, clown. I'm telling you why it's colossally stupid to bring in a guy who has never been a head coach just because he played at Miami.

No sir, you're the clown! STFU if you can't give a viable candidate. Secondly, I agree that it's stupid to bring someone in just because they played for Miami. With that being said, Moss is also the assistant HEAD COACH for an NFL team also. He is being coveted as a HC already, so while it may be dumb to hire a coach simply cause they played for UM; hiring Moss isn't dumb.

I can give a viable candidate, I just don't answer to you. Assistant Head Coach? Of an NFL team? Oh, sign me up. That must be exactly the same as recruiting and managing 18-22 year old kids.

Uh, no. It's not.

Guys who've been HEAD COACHES in the NFL have failed in college because they couldn't run a program.

Yeah. It sure hindered Butch, Charlie Strong and Mike Leach..

What the **** are you trying to say? Are you trying to say you're right because successful college coaches didn't start out as college head coaches?

Awesome point, bro!

Huh?

Not having experience running college programs really hurt them when they took jobs at Miami, Louisville and Texas Tech.

They had 1000x time more experience with the situation than a career NFL guy would. When is the last time Winston Moss had to convince his linebacker's parents to let their son play for him?

Moss wouldn't have much trouble doing that. Seeing as how he played and coached in the NFL. And has a Super Bowl ring to show for it. Kids would be much more interested in what a guy like that has to say than the BS Golden is selling them.

More concerned with a coach that can develop and one that is a good game day coach. Recruiting in SFL will take care of itself.
