Why is the goal to win the Coastal?

Shouldn't your goal as a team at the start of every season, no matter the team, be to win all your games and then win a national title?

By setting the bar so low I don't think there is any motivation or realistic push to get there.

I understand building up but it makes no sense. In the process of winning a national title you win the coastal and win the ACC.

What the **** happened from 2010 when Golden proclaimed the point is to win a national championship. I guess this is what happens when your'e coaching staff realizes it ain't ever gonna happen.

The word "Coastal", in any context, makes me want to go postal.

****....even when we change coaches, I hope we change conferences, so I never have to hear the ******* word "Coastal" again!

Golden's first initiative if he is retained is to get the canes into the AAC.

Because then Golden can argue at the end of the year "Hey look, we accomplished our goal as a team. I deserve another year."

Golden is the type of guy who likes to set low expectations so when he exceeds them, he can use that to his defense.

Sad part is, he has yet to exceed those low expectations he set.

i don't mind them having that as a goal. what i think is complete bs is them using that as an excuse to lose games and act as if it doesn't matter bc the coastal is still up for grabs. i think someone forgot to tell these idiots that a loss to FSU can hurt the whole goal of winning the coastal

" miami plays anybody anywhere anytime "

To

" we have to look at night games "

" at the University of miami not winning the championship is a failure "

To

" our goal is to win the coatal "

So you don't think there isn't any motivation or realistic push to win the coastal and you think less realistic expectations like winning a natty will fix that?

Because ALbortion is a potato dressed as a used car salesman. He thinks he can claim such low "goals" and sell them to the public as "success". Congrats we won the coastal (we won't) so the season is a "success" because we met our "goal".

Our admin/BOT and Shalala have allowed this potato to have no standards. They allow him to do and say whatever he wants due to apathy. So this potato goes unchecked and makes these "goals".

This whole thing is an utter failure.

UM's (I can't even call it "The U" because that would be sacrilege to the people who made the school "The U") new motto is "Commitment to Mediocrity."

Might as well make our first goal "go to practice this week" or "get on the bus" lol

Can't win the NC without the coastal. Well... with the playoff now, you probably could. Still, it's important. Sort of.

As a high school coach our goal is to win the State Championship, but that being said we start with the goal of being the number one seed in our district, then to win the district, then to win the region, and then win the state title. I think the goal of winning the coastal is fine. If our only goal is to win the national title, then what do our guys have left to play for. By setting up small goals, it lends itself to the big picture goal of playing for a national title. We win the coastal, we play for the ACC title, we win the ACC title, we play in a major bowl. That's how it works. I think we all are looking for reasons not to like the guy or to make sure the guy is fired. We don't need to invent reasons, there are enough legitimate gripes to warrant his being fired at the end of the year.

this is actually one thing I don't have a huge problem with. you cant win the conference or make the playoff without winning your own **** division. golden just sucks so bad he cant even accomplish this small feat.

Because Folden is Plastered in Mediocrity. First, there is no such thing as winning the Coastal. Folden created that Horse Sh*t Title because his is Plastered in Mediocrity. It's simply representing the Coastal in the ACC Title game.

When Hired, Folden Mentioned NCs. He has not mentioned NCs since his initial press conference. 5 years in. Why? Folden is Plastered in Mediocrity.

Saying "Coastal" is a Low Standard set by those that are Plastered in Mediocrity.

he said this his best team so he should win the acc title, theres no me guys so that means theres no first rounders.
