Why has our QB play been so bad?

Coaching. Antiquated offensive schemes.

I think with the proper coaching and scheme, some of the guys could have at least been productive, competent college QBs.

/Whispers . . . I don't believe Jarren is as bad as we saw last year.
 
Combination of sht evals, sht coaches, and sht offensive system. Didn't read other 3 pages of thread.
 
Truthfully beside Rosier( owns the single season td record, go figure) Talent at QB is not the problem..the bs around them on the other hand
 
QB recruiting has generally been fine. Hit/miss ratio not much different than at any program. Scheme and poor coaching have been much bigger problems.

It's always one thing or the other in games. Offense is good, defense is bad. Or defense is solid but offense is inept. Or both offense and defense are good enough to win, but special teams finds a way to lose games. When you have that type of inconsistency across all phases of the game, it means coaches are the biggest issue.

We peaked with Kelly. Bernie and Vinny we certainly NFL caliber but after that we had great college QBs that did not translate well the pros. Howard was a QB master and had Earl Morrall as his QB coach. We have had nothing like it since. I am fine will of NC winning QBs. They don't need to be high picks in draft just win us NCs. Had Howard stayed the 1st round qb picks would have too, but then no JJ and he made us the killers we were. Our qbs of late have no been nfl quality nor have they been great college qbs. Give me great college QBs all day long. I don't watch pros any more.
