I don't know why he didn't become as dominant once he got in the NFL
I always thought that besides ed reed, he was gonna be the sure fire hall of famer that came out of that draft from the canes
That 124-7 combined score is still the NCAA record for Margin of Victory over back to back ranked opponents.I was in the OB in 2001, when a heralded defensive end named Dwight Freeney came to town. All I heard the whole week was how Freeney was going to terrorize Dorsey and Syracuse would spank Miami.
At the end of the night, Freeney had 0 sacks, 0 tackles, and 0 assists. McKinnie totally vaporized him. Oh, and Miami won 59-0.
We heckled Freeney so bad through the entire 4th quarter that he moved to the other end of the field to get away from the berating. What a wonderful 2 weeks those were....59-0 vs Syracuse and 65-7 vs Washington. Payback games. Back to back games in the OB.....I'll never forget those for as long as I live.
Do you not think he shut down freeny or are you a cuse fan that was not happy about. What gives spfrcane?Shut Freeny down
A buddy of mine was an athletic trainer for the Vikings. They were visiting Buffalo. They went to the anchor bar (first place wings were invented or so they say). He told me McKinnie ate 7 dozen & took 5 dozen to go bahahahaha
