Why doesn't Deejay get more carries?

I feel he moves the chain more often than Homer. Homer runs a bit stiff, and puts me in the mind of Lamar Miller (he runs harder tho). Homer seems to be good on straight line runs, which isn't ideal in a runner imo.

Also why didn't Richt roll Malik out of the pocket more often?

It was a good run, but man a win, plus turnover chain hype would've overflowed us with recruits and clout. O well back to the drawing board

Remember when Walton was the starter and some people kept asking "Why doesn't Homer get more carries?"

What's the fascination with back up running backs? Deejay got carries and we couldn't move the ball, Homer got carries and we couldn't move the ball. Notice a correlation?

When the OL is just getting pushed off the line of scrimmage all day it doesn't matter who you put back there. They have been dreadful for the last 2 games. Absolutely dreadful. This is a game where you come in and snatch their soul by bullying them on the line.

Deejay is not a better chain mover than Homer this early in his career. He's more elusive but doesn't run with power or break tackles yet for those tough yards, and i'm sure his pass blocking is questionable being new to the position. Homer is a good back but the line wasn't creating any space.

My issue with Richt's O is his insistence on running everything from the gun. Change it up and run a little pistol with Homer getting downhill with speed/power and more vision to cut. This standing still crap in the backfield puts the RB at a disadvantage most times....they have zero momentum, which is why our short yardage running game is miserable.

I agree with you there. Running from the gun is terrible, especially with a bad line

No attempt to run on first down today hardly at all. That means coach has no confidence in the OL or he wants to play XBOX football. Top 10 teams run on first down a LOT. Coley was even worse

Correct me if i'm wrong but not once did I see the wildcat or an attempt to get Homer or Dallas out in space when obviously Rosier and the Oline were struggling

you could have clinton portis, edgerrin james, and chuck foreman back there getting carries and it wouldn't matter with how soft and pathetic the oline "blocks"

We have no ground game. So thats why Dallas didn't get many carries.

Richt is going back to the old Houston Oilers Warren Moon days just throwing the ball.

Never fails, we always would have done better with another guy. Haven't looked yet, but I'm guessing there's a thread about how Perry would have won the game today.

two words:

MARK. RICHT.

****, Richt should have put in Dee Jay.

DeeJay could run, pass, run and pass quick slants in, slants out, bubble screens - the quick stuff.

We could have nickel and dimed those retards all day long - but play calling sukked because it wasn't adjusted to Rosier's dead, cold hand.

Richt also insisted on trying to run up the middle - when we haven't had an opening up the middle all year. Just brilliant. No motion, no sweeps, no awareness.

"Didn't execute the game plan." That's one half-assed excuse.

If the offense or defense needs to adjust to an opponent's offense or defense - that's on the coaches.
