Several D1 recruits Burns, Jackson, Wright. Are those kids overrated or are the rest of the kids that bad?

Lost to Belen 24-0 and Gulliver the last couple of seasons they have been below average.

They've only had 3 good seasons. 2000, 2007, and 2008.

2000 - State champs with Sean Taylor carrying them.

2007 - this is their most talented team, ever. They lost to AHP in the playoffs. They got in a fight in their regular season game against ABC, and bunch of their players were suspended. I forgot if they were able to play against AHP.

2008 - they reached the state title game and got blown out by Bolles.

They've had PLENTY of BCS prospects, but the only ones that ever did anything in college were: Sean Taylor, Patrick Robinson, Conner Vernon, and Donavon Varner (all had impressive careers).

Sam Smith and Anthony Leon did alright in college.

Their kids always show up in 7v7s. In 2007, they went to the addidas 7v7 national championship and lost in the final to Pahokee. This team had a lot of talent on every position except for the line. Their best lineman was a DE that went D1AA, and the rest were trash. This same team went 8-3.

I don't think that Baez ever coached on any of their good teams. I know he was at Gulliver in the spring of 2007, but I'm not sure if he went to Ole Miss before the start of the season or after. More than likely it was before.

Their coaching isn't very good, but those coaches can definitely bring in kids. I'd say avg.-below avg. coaching and horrible talent on the line is why they usually stink. If they could bring in better lineman, it would cover up for their coaching. Champagnat had a TERRIBLE coaching staff and they won a state title. Playoffs in 2A and 4A are a joke.

Coconut creek's offensive line is the worst big school position group I've ever seen lol. Those poor kids are out there without any type of coaching.

It looks like gulliver has played a few good teams to start the season. Oxbridge has some serious talent and I'm a little surprised of their score against Belen. Belen always does a good job with their kids but I'm guessing gulliver couldn't replace the two qb's they had last year.

I haven't seen Plantation play. But why are they bad? I remember when they hired Steve Davis as coach everyone said it'll take time because he built a monster team at Ely with Tyrone Moss. However, a decade has passed and it doesn't seem as if his system has worked at Plantation.

1 Gulliver player had 27 tackles in a game so that tells u a lot. Plantation has a solid defense this year but bad sp teams and that wingT option offense is tough to run down here.

Not sure if that stat is legit. Seen this movie before.

One of a few other examples that I can remember : In 2000, Willie Jones Jr. broke the Dade county single season sack record with 39 sacks. His teammates Rashard Jeanty and Alfred Peterson both had over 10, with Jeanty having around 20 something.

NOBODY that I knew that played against them believes that he had 39 sacks in a season. 3 guys being recorded with having 70+ sacks on the same team LMAO. This was put in the herald in the caption of the All-dade pics.

I'm sure he had a good game, but 27 (has to be including assists and running into piles, and that's still a lot) is very unlikely.

Steve Davis. LOL

Dude allowed us to beat him TWICE in one season when he had Jeremy Cash and Ryan Shazier. (along with a few other D-1 kids)

Plantation IMO is by far the most under-achieving program in Broward. They should be a contender every year. Their school boundary has so much talent. They always have a handful of legit D-1 players. Davis must have naked pics of their AD or Principal...or their administration just doesn't wanna win football games.

You'd probably be surprised at how many administrations down here have no desire to be good in football (or athletics in general). Some don't care and most don't even have a clue how it's done. I know of administrations that refuse to lighten a Head Coach's class load, won't open job positions to bring other coaches on campus, basically won't give the HC any of the resources that he needs to win football games. It's crazy.

My boy is the O-line coach there. LOL

I don't know how good of a coach he is. All I know is that I played against him once in 2012 and one of my Defensive Ends had 6 sacks. LOL

They have a problem at Offensive Coordinator IMO. They're one-dimensional. Their whole offense revolves around the deep ball. Well if you can't protect your QB, you can't throw the deep ball! That's how they got their a$$ kicked by Flanagan.

That offense is trash.

The best Wing-T coach in Broward even scrapped that crap and changed up his offense. (Guandolo)

Don't associate yourself with that lol. The Flanagan game highlight has 7-8 sacks in a 3 minute video. It's not like they don't have bodies up there either. Not that this area has many real coaches anyway but I think Connolly at STA (he's not running the OL anymore), the guy at Chaminade and Luque at Uschool always have well coached kids up front. (I named 3 private schools and I know you're going to say something about that lol)

Funny thing is up until as recently as 2008 that's all most teams ran. Not until recently were teams throwing the ball all over the field. Wingt was a staple of south Florida football.
