Why do we refuse to play with any kind of tempo?

In fairness to OP, late in the first half we were averaging 3 plays (just under) every 2 minutes.

Overall though, we averaged 1 play every 31 seconds.

Nobody has said we shouldn’t run tempo, that is if Beck can run it effectively which remains to be seen, but the blowout wins are terrible examples. No need to run it in those types of games.
My counter questions to your post are this:

1. Before a blowout win, becomes a blowout win, its just a game. So before it reached us being up [insert a score you consider to be a blowout], did we run tempo?
2. I know youre aware that we are in a precarious spot to make playoffs and when it comes to at large spots, style points matter. Especially vs common opponents to ND. I know we dominated, even more than ND, but I feel like style points is something we can never have enough of. Especially when it comes to offensive points, which the committe has publicly questioned. 50 points is better than 34 offensive points imo.

Im just of the mentality, considering the spot were in. We are at the mercy of a committe liking what they see, to give them as much style points as possible. If we scored 60 vs cuse, NC State and VT next week....now the committe is second guessing their original opinions aboit our offense.

3. To your point asking if Beck can even run tempo, isn't that something we should know by game 11? What if we make playoffs and need to run tempo to catch up in a game. Now Beck has to do it for the first time and we dont know if he can?that would be poor planning imo.

56-0 or 63-0 would have looked a whole lot better than 41-7 to the committee. But that’s just me. Need to make it 100% clear to the CFP and put up PlayStation numbers that they won’t leave us out. Instead final score isn’t much different than what ND did to them.
I beg to differ. At 41-7 it appears you thoroughly dominated a team. At 63-0, it appears you basically ran drills for 4 quarters against a bunch of guys who showed no interest in offering any resistance.

Those are great points. To add to #2, the committee chair said on ESPN with everybody watching that they wanted to see more from our O.

That was good timing for us because NC State has one of the worst pass defenses in the country.

So what did we do? Stayed committed to the run and clock management.

This is not the time for a balanced O or clock management. We really needed to run up the score just to show that we can.

OP posts about tempo.

Everybody fights back with argument that we scored.

That wasnt OPs point? Its NC State, one of the worst defenses in football. Of course we scored, but that doesnt answer his question of whether it was a fast or slow pace.

I saw the last second Jojo procedure penalty, I saw us burn a TO to avoid another delay of game. Seems like we have at least one of those a game.

I dont need to ask this question because I know why we play with a slow pace, I know Mario's style.

But I am bothered that nothing can be questioned after beating a bad team. And the responses dont answer the actual question. Tempo is the question, not points or effectiveness.

Insecurity, lack of intelligence, and the inability to read and communicate all play a part in this.

Sadly you are not wrong in this case. Really puts us in a bad spot. Committee literally said they needed to see more out of our Offense.

This fanbase has the collective football knowledge of a squirrel.

Bro this mob mentality of if there is any criticism after a win means "youre miserable in life" and all the other crap ppl are posting is so gross.

Like, we have two losses and on the outside looking in for playoffs and likely wont win the ACC again....but the coaching staff and team is above any criticism because they beat NC State? (And to be clear, im happy they won. But imo they need to try to win by the most possible points from here on out because of the position we are in due to losses)

I ask the non miserable ppl, are you happy with where we currently sit this season? (Not in playoffs or ACC championship).

Its so dumb we cant discuss **** after a win bc the mob mentality demands we shove our faces in the dirt and pretend we are perfect.

when your trying to defend the indefensible you throw whatever you can at it to try to hide what’s in plain sight.

Against a top 10 worst defense I’ve been told winning 41-7 is better than winning 56-0 or 63-0 and our offense did well because we scored on 60% of our drives (keeping in mind 33% of that 60% were field goals.)

This is obvious criticism that we heard a lot a couple of weeks ago, but since we scored 79 points at home vs Cuse and NC St, no one wants to hear it.

Our fans have the memory of a goldfish.

Criticisms the first 8-9 weeks were correct... and the team adapted finally ... doing the exact things the mopes asked for... now in another game against a **** team, people are pointing out the offense is still not crisp or playing with tempo or a flow -- and they are again correct.

The defense set the tone for the game and then we played with confidence. Do it again on the road and against a good Pitt team and don't revert to clenched ****, slog...

Let’s go!!

The playcalling has been better, but easy to get creative in games with 17 and 28 point spreads. Pace has not really improved.

Let's see how we do vs Pitt. I don't think they're very good. ND exposed them yesterday. They're still the same team that lost to WVU.

I’ve been on here from the beginning. This is how it has always been. This is the fanbases MO. But like always, those that ask well thought out questions or have valid critiques always end up correct. ALWAYS
