This is my question why even get upset or act like kids when we knew this was going to happen. Its year one fellas. Name one coach in year one that has had a 11 win season? We need to be realistic about what Miami really is and its a dump period.

1. QB position is horrible why bc you bring in a guy who In the end find out he's not that good. Why not go after Jalen hard, he's a game changer?
2. Oline position straight trash. That kills me bc we have 4star, 5star guys on the line and we cant block guys from Div3 div 2 schools. And you bring a offensive line coach who was horrible at Tampa Bay
3. Def as a whole. We have no pass rush at all we have no pressure from Linebackers, corners playing like they just got out of middle school and secondary cant cover a deep if their life depended on it.
4. Kickers can we really blame them **** they was bad when last yr so what makes us think they would be worth a **** this year.
All around the team is bad period. We should have hit the portal for every position of need to fix the holes. Instead we got here and there picks and nothing really concrete. Not one transfer has helped us out except KJ, but Wr wasn't a problem.

Name 1 coach. Chris Petersen.

I agree with your overall sentiment that fans' expectations were probably too high, but all of your sub-points are factually incorrect.

1. Yes I'm sure the problem is we didn't "go after Jalen hard". Had we gone after him "hard", I'm sure he would have been here. I'm sure it had nothing to do with OU being the top offense in the country, having produced consecutive #1 pick Heisman-winning QB transfers. All we had to do was go after him "hard", and he would have been ours. Why didn't our coaches think of going after him hard! I wish you had been around to tell the coaches! [Note: extreme sarcasm]
2. No 5 stars on the roster. We haven't played any div 2/3 schools.
3. We are 15th nationally in sack rate.
4. Our placekicking was solid last year. Baxa was 9 of 12, and 8 of 9 on <40 yarders. This year he is 5 of 10, and 3 of 7 on <40 yarders.
5. WRs were a massive problem coming into the year. They were terrible last year, and were set to be terrible again this year. JT is completely unreliable. Take Osborn off the team, and who is our best WR? Harley? He's probably not a top 30 WR in the ACC. Probably not even a top 150 or top 200 WR nationally. Without Osborn, our WRs would have been among the worst in the ACC coming into the year. The young guys seem to be getting better, and hopefully by season's end we'll be able to say that WR is a strength, but coming into the year, it was a massive problem.

Again, everyone in this fan base is so sick of losing—but a segment of that group has completely lost all logic and reason. They heard "The New Miami" in spring—which was intended as a long-term goal and the type of program Diaz is building towards—yet they all took it as some instant-fix; as if an implied attitude adjustment was all this team needed.

7-6 last year with a 35-3 loss to Wisconsin in the bowl game and 7-9 dating back to Pitt in 2017 after a paper-champ 10-0 start that could've easily have been 6-4 with a slew of lucky breaks; the exact opposite of the lack of breaks Miami is seeing this year.

Fifth head coach in 14 years. Went into this season 97-70 dating back to the 2005 Peach Bowl. One Coastal title in 15 tries, no ACC Championships and a complete inability to consistently win the winnable conference games, instead of playing down to the level of the competition.

Outside of wishful thinking, there was literally ZERO reason to expect anything this year. Jesus Christ, even the great Nick Saban went 7-6 his first year at Alabama and lost to Louisiana-Monroe at home—a guy who had already won a national title at LSU and had success at Michigan State; yet Diaz was supposed to hit the ground running in year one?

People set false expectations and then are triggered like a bunch of scorned broads when things don't go as planned.

we did go after jalen hurts hard. took him to prime 112 and then liv. the issue is that lincoln rileys system is 10000x better than anything enos could cobble together

Im not trying to hear that year 1 crap because we play an extremely weak schedule and for us to come out and challenge UF the way we did in the season opener there is no reason who should have regressed the way we have. Everybody on our schedule we should have beat convincingly. The only 2 teams that losses were somewhat reasonable for this year were UF and FSU. The latter simply because both teams usually get up to play for that rivalry but even they shouldn’t be able to touch us this year if we’re honest.

A dumbass trying to make a relative comparison between Manure Diaz and Nick Saban

The New Miami was a long term thing? Manny Diaz said himself we should be in Charlotte this year and every year. So you're just drinking the **** soup you're being fed.

Well, sort of. It's not really about the system. It's about the results. Even if Enos had cobbled together the most masterful system in the history of football and pitched Hurts on it, he wouldn't have been able to point to any results as he was a brand new OC. Riley has had unbelievable success, turning cast off QBs into Heisman winners and #1 picks.

(I was being sarcastic on going after him hard. I think you realized that, but pointing it out jic.)

Had Díaz won a national title in the past then he’d get a pass for going 7-6 his first year. Also, you conveniently ignore the tough schedule Saban had that year too.

False expectations? Beating UNC, GT and VT are false expectations? You’re setting the bar way too low, my friend. Don’t forget, you defended the guy who put us in this situation the last year or two. I know your schtick is to come off as the rationale fan who attacks anyone who complains but it gets old after a while, especially when we continue to lose to teams who have less talent than we do. At some point, you have to hold this program accountable for its incompetence.

Funny thing is our best player on the team that gets more hype than anyone else is the **** rb/fb special teams nut.

And wait everyone is saying all these coaches but most of them took over a team that already had talent great talent at that. Larry ****er? that's not even his team its Butch Davis.
A lot of you think that This was supposed to be a great year or that things were going to be different. We still have the same guys from last yr this yr except for one or two. the offense was horrible last yr and it still is? Its not the play calling maybe its the actual players?

Probably because the “Pad level” thingy doesn’t apply to him, he was naturally born to be at that level. Game 7 is where we find out we’re tackling at the wrong pad level? I just can’t get over this minor detail.
