why do people still think golden can be a good HC?

hard to tell if its the majority or not, but many on here believe we are simply a DC away from being a top 15 even top 10 team. i think that's short sighted. ok, if we got a top notch DC who turned our defense around overnight, i actually agree that with our garbage schedule we could end the year as a top 15 team. **** we were a top 10 team last season after going 7-0 vs nobody. but i think we have to think long term, big picture. even if golden did make the change, why would you want to keep someone in charge who is THIS unbelievable slow to diagnose an obvious problem and correct it? i think everyone would agree we dont want just one championship....i think are one of the only schools with the potential to put together a run even better than bamas due to our brand, recruiting ability (with the right coach) in south florida and nationally, location in miami, etc. so lets say we were to hire a great dc next year (which, is a big assumption in the first place considering golden is so clueless). if the DC is as great as we hope he is, he'll probably leave after having huge success, and we'll have to hire another coordinator. there will always be staff turnover...is golden knowledgeable enough to consistently make great hires? i personally dont think so. jedd fisch was so so, the jury is still out on coley (we've been pleasantly surprised but still has much to prove), basically every assistant is getting ripped apart on here, and donofrio? are you kidding me? how has this guy survived for 4 seasons? golden has zero vision and cant put together an elite staff because he doesnt understand the game. hes a good talker, good pr guy, clean image, but he just can't coach, and more importantly, he cant recognize people that CAN coach.

the only way that scenario would be good for us would be for golden to have success and leave. which i guess would be likely. but i would rather not take the chance to be stuck with him.

I want us to be good, al golden is not going anywhere next year. How can we be good next year? New defense, and staff. We can keep dreaming about canning golden and bringing in butch, but the admin is going to reasonable and take into account how bad of a job randy did, and the effects of the shapiro situation. Not to mention golden still doesn't have a full class of seniors he's recruited. All of those things will be taken into account by the people who make the decisions. Do I think we can still be good with golden? Yes. Do I think we can be good with his defense and that staff? No.

To answer your question, its because 2 games we've lost, because the defense wasn't able to provide any resistance against nebs and gts run game. With a better defense, those games were very winnable. Ull was just a cluster **** because we decided we weren't even going to try and win we were just going to hope not to lose. But the defense did their part.

Because Al's got em all fooled. This, Al can be a good coach, business comes directly from the mouth of the media. The guy can talk a good game. In order for him to be a good coach, he has to learn to adapt to his surroundings (athletes, scheme, coaching staff, gameplan, adjustments, etc.), and he has shown NO ability or desire to do that. He has put his friendship above what he's getting paid a good deal of money to do....which by the way, is his **** job. Three words Corch Golden, "Adapt or Die"!

I disagree with this. I think people are just blinded by their hope that Golden would be a good coach for the University of Miami. He appears to be a genuinely nice man who you want to root for. But wanting to root for him and blindly supporting him is different. I want to root for him to succeed as he is the head coach for the University of Miami. Having seen the results he has produced, I want to root for him to stay as far away from the program as possible. Whomever still supports him is trying to support the University because they have been told by the administration he is a good coach and are blindly following what they have been told. Nobody can support him by looking at the team he puts on the field from an objective point of view.
