Why Do People Act Like It's Solely The Defense's Fault?

Not using timeouts before halftime against GT in a game where our offense was slicing through them like a sythe is all the evidence you need of his mindset.

His teams at Miami have always played not to lose, that won't change just because you replace his homeboy at DC.

As others have said, offense has been fairly efficient - when they are on the field. Two backs over 7 a carry. Kaaya leading conference in yards. Their biggest failing is turnovers.

offense has at least made progress in my view. Defense is regression defined. And it started from bad.

and before you go all board on me, that doesn't mean I just want D out. You can see progress on coley side without making it mean you want Al back.

The only thing this offense can't do is grind down the clock with a power running game. Simply don't have the horses. But we can run the ball in spurts. Kaaya can throw any range pass you need..short, intermediate, and long. The offense is showing improvement each week. OP is barking up the wrong tree this time.

And that firing Dorito would accomplish anything at all? This is a shltty defense predicated on fear. The problem is that it's also Al's pride and joy, and not only does his loser mentality infect the program, but then, there's this:

- 53rd in total offense
- 74th in red zone offense
- 54th in scoring offense
- 124th in 3rd down conversions

- 111th in kick return defense
- 58th in kick returns

- Miami is the 11th most penalized team in the country.
- Miami is tied for 85th in turnover margin.

This is a bad football team in year 4. ALL the way around. Poorly coached clown show.

Everyone sucks. **** everybody. Fire everyone.

We're 8th in offensive efficiency.

Besides our penchant for not converting on 3rd down, I don't have very many problems with this offense since they've taken the cuffs off of Kaaya.

Hey, James Coley could actually be a decent OC.

In Canadian football.

Defense has not regressed, it's better but not good enough. You should really take a good look at last year. Worst D in Canes history.

Can't put it on the O and a frosh QB to play a perfect game each time out.

Bs. We have only played 3 real teams. Not allowing the Florida am and ark st. Games to mask it.

A). We played cupcakes last year. USF? FAU?
B). Every teams stats are padded by cupcakes. A&M plays SMU, for God's sake.
C). Arky State is ranked 38th in total offense.

Last year we were around 90th. This year we will be in the 35-45 range. FSU and UNC only good offenses left to play. The statistical improvement may be mostly the result of being more conservative on D.

This team is 125th in 3rd down conversion. Wtf are you talking about efficient????

HUH??? We are 56th in offensive efficiency. Our offense is performing worse than our putrid defense.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe because 3rd down efficiency isn't the only efficiency measure - like yards or points per play.

Educate yourself.

It's hard to defend this product with obscure stats when things like TOP, 3rd down efficiency and turnovers are so lopsided. All of that plus the eye test, we suck, doesn't matter how many points-per-play or rush yards-per-penalty yard were averaging. The offense is not the problem, but there's a lot of room for improvement.

And espns version of this made up subjective stat has us at 56th.

What is not a subjective measurement is total o, scoring o, and 3rd down efficiency which are all below average.

And for the clown propping up our ypc rush offense: u are actually proving the OPs point- we have a stud rushing attack but our moron OC doesn't use it.

Please please please shut up. You are comparing full season to partial. Talk about where we are on d in 5 weeks. I doubt greatly we will be 35 when its all done.

If our D is ranked 35 or better at the end of the year Al Golden can have a lifetime contract.

It is absolutely not going to happen. The defense is terrible, getting worse as we go, and there's no more famu or ak st's left on the schedule. Every ACC team we play from here on out has the potential to easily hang 500 on this D.

Got to give Al credit, we're very balanced . It's hard to suck on D , st 's and offense. We 're a complete team.

Says the guy who started the discussion by saying we've regressed. So you feel comfortable judging the D, except when stats are brought out. How about you come up with some sort of bet that we settle at the end of the year.

The first two games is what caused our numbers on 3rd down to be so misleading. Against Louisville Golden's game plan was to play it safe and not pass the ball. Golden admitted that he limited the offense during the Louisville gamle. The second game against Famu we still went with a limited playbook with a true freshman QB

Since those 2 games UM has a 3rd down conversion rate of about 37% which is about what you can expect from a offense lead by a freshman QB. UM will probably finish around 43% on 3rd downs.
