Why didn’t 1994 win the NC

So was the loss to BYU in 1990....Was even worse...Win that game and play Colorado or GT for the NC, and we would have annihilated either of them...

I still wish we would have played GT. I know the Cotton Bowl was a much bigger bowl than the Citrus, but it would have been fun to watch that team (with a chip on their shoulder) destroy #2 GT.

Miami was in control early 3rd quarter when out of nowhere UW executed a well timed screen pass to a rb that went for a long td. UM starting DE Baraka Short from Norland barely missed tipping the pass.

I have always maintained that the taller/more athletic Kenard Lang would have at least deflected the pass. The redshirt Fr Lang was still a backup at the time - but if iirc took over the that DE spot the following game and held it until he left for the NFL.

Up 14-3 until that 75 yard screen pass and 2-point conversion made it 14-11. Then Costa throws a pick 6 on the next play or next possession and it's 18-14 and then Jammi German fumbles the next kickoff and they go in and score and it's 25-14 all in like 3 minutes of football time. We could only kick 2 FGs the rest of the game.
