Sometimes, you have to be the bigger person [man] and defer to your relevant significant other as in the one who bore your favored son, your baby momma! According to South Miami police, defensive tackle Michaael Wyche and his girlfriend of five years had an argument over sleeping arrangements in the South Miami home they share. The argument escalated to the point Wyche allegedly pushed his girlfriend and threw her onto a bed several times.
It's known that you're 6'4 and 350 & all, and Wednesday is your birthday, and you're probably expecting all the trimmings you couldn't get, but bruh just let her have it...either lay low on the plush carpet or do the couch thing. I mean, how bad could it have been? Now, you done eff up...
The girlfriend, who is also 23 and has a child with Wyche, told police she hit the back of her head after the 6-foot-4, 345-pound Wyche pushed her against a wall. Police said her clothing was torn and she was treated at the scene for minor injuries, including a bloody lip.
In a statement announcing the suspension, UM said it was “aware of the situation” involving Wyche but suspended him indefinitely Wednesday with “no further comment at this time” after he was arrested by South Miami police on charges of misdemeanor domestic battery.
He was booked at 4:50 a.m. and remains in Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center Wednesday afternoon on $1,500 bond, according to court records. Wyche was ordered to stay away from the alleged victim. It is uncertain whether CiS and others would be wiling to raise the funds on gofundme.com for his bail, allowing Wyche to resume his studies, get a new pad to crash, and finish out his degree.
Wyche did not comment to police and it is unclear if their child was present for Wyche's birthday.
A redshirt senior, Wyche played in UM’s first four games this season and did not record a stat. He spent most of his practice time on scout team.
Wyche played at three junior colleges after graduating from Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith High. He signed with UM out of Monterey Park (Calif.) East Los Angeles College in May 2014.
A former three-star recruit, he was expected to see action on UM’s interior defensive line when he arrived. However, an Achilles’ injury from junior college hampered his development. In 10 games as a reserve in 2014, he recorded nine tackles (0.5 for loss) and a half-sack.
He will have a Nov. 18 hearing, according to court records.
