Why corrupt recruiting schools have future problems

New York or nothing huh? LOL. Warren Buffet doing ok in Omaha!

The finance world is a lot different than it was in the 50s. You do realize Warren started out working for his fathers company right? You can make decent money working a finance job in other cities, but no one would consider you killing it in the finance world if you work in Georgia LMFAO.

You don’t know shiat for a fact. Stop it. I’m much older than you, and have waaay more career experience. I KNOW these schools because I actually vet resumes, interview and hire Employees and have done so for nearly a decade. I live and work in New York, but the world is much bigger than New York. Ever heard of Atlanta it Charlotte? They have banking presences too.

My qualifications are: I have 3 degrees from some of the best universities in the world, an Ivy MBA, I worked at 2 of the top 3 consulting firms in the world, and I made partner. I’m telling you flat out both my former firms recruited UGA and Emory hard in the state of GA. UGA is looked upon more favorably than Miami in consultant and finance (where the big dogs play).

Emory is a great school and we have a few guys that went there that work with me. Yes I have heard of Atl, Charlotte, San Fran, etc. However, you are not getting the elite Ivy League school grads trying to get jobs in those cities. So you are telling me that if a resume from a recent UGA grad came across your desk you wouldn't just toss it? I highly doubt you are a partner at a reputable company if you answered that question with a yes.

Omg. Lol.

So, Ivy league grads aren’t trying to live in or get jobs in ATL, Charlotte or SF??? What’s?!?!

The Charlotte and ATL....the banking presences in the south or the Silicon Valley/“SF”/Palo Alto/Menlo Park where Apple, Google, Cisco, Facebook, Stanford University and the like reside, and where some of the brightest minds on the planet reside???

Yeah, now I see what kind of mind im dealing with here. And with that I will check myself out of this thread. Goodnight folks

No Miami isn’t. In no known universe does Miami have better academics than Georgia. Georgia is a better school than Miami, top to bottom. Better undergrad from soup to nuts, better law school, better MBA program, better international affairs. Miami has a better med school and that’s about it.

Do you ever come up for air while gagging on Bulldog dlck?

UM is a respected a academic institution.

I look at entrance requirements...and most data shows a lower average on standardized tests for UGA vs UM. You better have an ACT higher than 30 to have the best chance to get in at UM...while UGA focuses more on GPAs which can be so arbitrary because of high school grade inflation, even when the colleges normalize. Average incoming ACT for UGA is 29. Additionally UGA has an admission rate of about 50% vs Miami’s in the mid 30’s.

I’m not saying UGA is a bad academic school, but your dog dlck slurping is unwarranted.

Finally, THE (Times Higher Education) ranks all worldwide universities, and their methodology has a research-centric focus, and is also teaching-centric (the actual education students receive). Many of these other ranking services use things like student questionnaires, comparative endowments, and other nonsense metrics. THE focuses on teaching (the learning environment), research (volume, income and reputation), citations (research influence); in other words, the very reason for existence for a research university.

Compare the University Of Miami vs the University of Georgia.

This is what it feels like to be teabagged with competent data, I guess. Hope you enjoyed this facial **** slapping.

Maybe next time think twice about talking down the U on a fan site. There might be somebody that can actually call you on it.

Where did I say all Ivy league grads. You are not going to see elite Ivy School or Stanford grads going to try and get jobs in Atlanta. I can't believe I even need to explain this. Before you say "my cousin billy Bob graduated from Yale and works in Atlanta". I know there are outliers. Maybe some people have family in these cities. However, most of the top grads work in NYC or a foreign city. Use common sense. You bust your balls for 22 years to get a 3.8 at Harvard while working internships every summer. What kind of job are they looking for? Should I go and work as some back office job in Atlanta where I can hope to one day make 400k a year when I am 50? Or would they look to get into something like Private equity who has guys making over a hundred million dollars per year?

Guy is a clown. He just wants to shlt on UM

Yah.....No chance. What I learned from this article is that the NCAA and Addidas won big time. These teams and Addidas earned hundreds of millions of dollars and in exchange they have 3 guys who will end up getting 2 years of prison time. I am 100% positive that if the schools ADs and addidas execs could go back in time and choose not to cheat they would 100% do it again.

I don’t know about that. We have a criminal conviction in Federal court in a case involving cash payments, coaches, universities and players. At the very less, those three are strawmen for all to bagmen out there. Two sets of initials carry a lot more fear with them, IRS and RICO. I think that was in Southern District of NY. It is famous for politically hungry US attorneys making thier bones on big name defendants.

Very close to true but not entirely. Don't discount nepotism and relationships. I spent years at a very large global asset management firm and some of the people I was recruited alongside had zero business being there.

We hired a kid that went to Arkansas because he was a friend of the market manager's son. It didn't pan out well for him.

As for the rankings, they're largely are based on graduate schools, in particular, medicine and law. There are weird factors like freshmen retention and alumni giving rates that have next to nothing to do with quality of education.

But no, in no world is Georgia a better school than Miami.
This right here^^^^^^^^^^
Just because in the last couple years UGa is barely above UM in the Us news crap doesnt make it a better school. I'm in the medical field and I know for a fact that UM is worlds ahead of UGA and not just here, internationally.

Let me guess. You are one of those guys that Lives in Upper Saddle River and when you are talking to people you claim to "live in Saddle River and are a partner in NYC". You conveniently leave off the upper and what company you are a partner. Am I right?

So what do you expect the consequences will be for the schools and Adidas?

Yup. He has no idea what he is talking about and started an argument with someone who actually knows a lot more about this then he does.

Look at my post above. Demolished his whole premise. UGA not even close to Miami in a ranking methodology that uses serious metrics like research.

For some reason this caulksucker has a hardon for Miami but wants to slurp UGA. Maybe Miami laughed their *** off at his application.

Yup. That post demolished his whole argument. 0 chance he got into Miami, but chose to go to UGA instead.

UM is a decent, nothing special school that desperately tries to be something it can never be; the duke of the further south. We will never even be remotely close to that type of academic school...

I wouldnt be so sure. Frenz wasn't hired to stay out of the top 25. Rankings are somewhat in eye of beholder obviously, but I would suspect a change next 5-10 years.

They aren't trying to be Duke further south, but rather Harvard of South America.

Why you you Miami Alumn’s so **** insecure??? My goodness, I’ve never seen a group of slums that get in their feelings quicker than Miami grads that’s insecure about the Uni rankings.

I didn’t talk bad about your mothers. I said Georgia is a better university. It’s more respected by folks in the fields I’ve worked in. That’s all

Miami has a much greater international population than a southern state school, at least percentage wise.

Also as someone who went through the process two years ago and has a friend who got into UGA but not Miami, I would say Miami is a better school. Not to mention those rankings factor in tuition, which UM would obviously get a knock for.

Wasn’t a partner in NYC. Don’t need to prove anything to you, man. You asked me to state qualifications and I did that for you.

I know a few people on this board. Folks I’ve known 15 years. They know my background; don’t need to make anything up to trump myself up.
