Why are so many assuming VT is a walkover?

It's very rare I agree with DB Jr and VT ALWAYS plays us tough but this is no cakewalk. For the past year we are a third tier team in the worst conference in the NCAA. Teams lick their chops when they play us. Only saving grace is that we are getting healthy but I'm not at all impressed with Dan Enos. I truly hope he gets offered a head coaching job next year and leaves.
 
Y’all are missing the point. We are 14 point favorites. And it’s not because anyone has any respect for this canes team right now. We are double digit favorites because VT is that bad.

If you guys are so confident about this being a struggle, put your money where your mouth is and take VT +14

LoL, Unless we playing BETHUNE COOKMAN, none of our games are more likely than not to be cake walks, we got 1st year headcoach manny diaz along with the above average qb coach but overrared play-caller, than we got the d-co blake baker just now stepping into the big boi league, and he proved it, 4th & 17th, np, i'll just call the same obvious blitz from his blindside instead of bringing the blitz from the strong side to force him to have to speed up. So coach diaz in his 1st year is going to war with unproven coordinators at this level. Know this, this is not a coach richt led program anymore where he brought the confidence back to the program, right now, we're in the "coach diaz trying to find his way mode" and right now, that Central Michigan game wasnt a good look, nor were the comments by the team after the BETHUNE COOKMAN game, when the team is being told they're going to face adversity against BETHUNE COOKMAN, and than im hearing jarren's lack of confidence during that game before things started going right, so right now, i know this team is not mentally where its suppose to be overall, we'll see how we look today!
 
If we start seeing petty calls against us, and them getting away with holding us like Joe Biden holds little girls, we will be in for the fight of our lives.

Strawman argument. Everyone on here is extremely low on expectations.

All true. That's why Vegas has us as 2 TD favorites. Not because we're good, because they have looked THAT bad. Grew up in DC and several of my good friends are die hard Hokies. They've haven't seen a VT team this bad in decades.

Having said that, do I therefore think Miami rolls over them today and covers with ease? No. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if we end up in a dog fight. We simply haven't played a complete game of competent football in ages. We are capable of beating ourselves vs anyone.
