Why Are Most Angry with a Gino hire?

Many here complain about Miami not caring about football. It’s obviously valid as many things done over the last 20 years show that.

Well, looks like Miami is going out and getting Gino as AD. Possibly Zo in some capacity and possibly Mario as HC.

If that doesn’t slap you in the face as Miami now starting to care about football, I don’t know what will.

There are valid points for no prior AD experience, Miami only people, etc.

Let’s give it a chance if this is how it’s going to play out. It’s Miami caring about football. Let’s not miss on that.
Because we aren’t hypocrites after years of saying stop hiring first time coaches and ad’s but then have a Miami alum exception after also saying to stop hiring Miami alums when no one else would hire them for the same role elsewhere.

Other than that it’s ******* great

If we're going for an ex Miami QB, I think we should give Bernie Kosar a serious look.

Steve Sarkasian can be HC. He's on the hot seat at TX, we can take him off their hands.

Ed Orgeron as DC.

And maybe bring back Dennis Erickson as OC.

I think it could work... but I'm a "glass half full" kind of guy.

If that glass is half full of whiskey, Kosar is in. Weekend at Bernie's style.

folks, we are hiring an unproven AD (Zo, Gino or both) or a lousy proven AD( dude from (New Mexico). That is likely what is going to happen.

No experience, why not…….Richt jr, Rumph, Banda, Patke, Manny, Blake James. What could go wrong.

#FirsttimeU

OK I agree BUT, since nobody else has made this point...

If you're a rich, old Canes fan and Blake James calls you up asking for a donation... you probably tell him to **** off.

But if Gino ******* Torretta calls, you're opening the checkbook.

See I think the name alone can go a long way. A guy like that is the reason a lot of those fat cats became fans in the first place. They'll love him

Also, consider John Elway. Not as a QB, but as GM. If Elway isn't GM at Denver, then they never sign Payton Manning. If they never sign Payton, they don't go on that run and win a bunch of Super Bowls. Manny only signed with Denver because he grew up idolizing Elway.

The name carries some value, is all I'm saying.

I mean, we need a savior at this point in the dumpster fire, so I get the frustration.

But I do see potential in both Zo and Gino. Both great men, very well respected, POTENTIAL in both. But is that what we need...

I think people are just tired of the "safe guy" we know. We always seem to go with the safe guy, Coker, Shannon, Golden, Richt, Diaz, Blake James is not the best manager but can really fund raise, etc. Honestly as wild as it sounds, Golden was probably our biggest risk we've taken in 15+ years.

You can’t just gloss over “no AD experience” - that’s huge.
