Many here complain about Miami not caring about football. It’s obviously valid as many things done over the last 20 years show that.

Well, looks like Miami is going out and getting Gino as AD. Possibly Zo in some capacity and possibly Mario as HC.

If that doesn’t slap you in the face as Miami now starting to care about football, I don’t know what will.

There are valid points for no prior AD experience, Miami only people, etc.

Let’s give it a chance if this is how it’s going to play out. It’s Miami caring about football. Let’s not miss on that.

Totally agree! Not saying I necessarily "want" him as our AD, but I'd be good with Gino getting it because of the obvious emphasis he would place on football. If the University of Miami gets football right, I have a strong hunch that it will help all other sports.

I’m almost to the being okay with Lane if there is Gino. Not there quite yet…but almost.

This is what I posted in the other Gino, thread. Basically my biggest grip with all this. Gino/Zo/Mario stuff.

I’m feeling uneasy with all the “Miami” guys, and “friends hiring friends” thing Miami has going on.

So if it is indeed Gino/Zo, and Mario, if In year 3 of Mario things still look the same.. do we really expect these buddies to step up and do what’s needed? I know it would be really difficult for me in that situation.

I really wish we would hire proven, non Miami guys..

Agreed. Give me someone who CARES and who will fight for the program. Not fold at every turn like beta Blake who was too scared to ask for money. Alumni, fans, and the school could rally behind Gino. Although he’s not my first choice, I would much prefer him rather than New Mexico or Texas tech dudes.

Build a winning team and everything else will take care of itself. Football rules supreme and other sports will follow. Get someone in here that knows football and let that be king. If Gino is that guy then fine by me.

I completely understand this, it’s what comes with the territory of being an AD. But, it’s a good question, if it comes up, would he be willing to do what he needs to do? Only time will tell and only IF he gets the job.

Most want Jurich, we aren’t getting Jurich supposedly. So who else do people want? I’ve heard Brian White, he’s unimpressive, surprised Rad didnt get a call, he would have been a great hire..

This board has brainwashed themselves into believing that Tom Jurich is the only path to becoming an elite football program again.
Nope; we’re just not stupid enough to fall for the “we’re committed to winning and spending money” and then hiring a search firm only to hand the job to someone on the inside.
