to go to a backup QB when the starter is struggling? I have always wanted to meet JJ and ask him why he didn't pull Vinny in 1987 and stick in Geoff Torreta (Gino's brother) especially since hGeoff started the last game as Vinny crashed his Moped and Geoff threw for the most yards in that game of any for the whole season. I would think after 2 int's at least throw a backup out there for one or two series hoping the starter gets his head on straight. I know, egos get sensitive since it is not the norm. I think if some coaches would start to do it then it would become common and not so ege bending. Since we never blow anyone out, we don't get to see the backups but the coaches do during the week and hopefully they have a good feeling about whomever is the backup and the backup has been watching the defense, can prepare IF this becomes common, otherwise they probably just watch the game knowing the starter will finish the game no matter how bad he performs. My two cents!

You don’t remember the second half of the bowl game last year

Unfortunately becks floor is still higher than Emory’s ceiling

Hindsight being 20 20 it may have been a mistake to invest so heavily on a QB who has a history of being a turnover machine. We will probably be back in the portal this off-season I doubt Luke nickel or any of those guys who look like jag will be here or can win the starting job.

Yeah..Cam was struggling, no it was by design. I failed to mention if a coach goes to the backup the starter acts lke he won't possibly go back in.

Can you make a time when Emory has performed amazingly?
that is bothersome too. Recruitwise we have incredible talent sitting on the bench and I would hope in practice someone might demonstrate that incredible talent. Are they all worse then Emory or is Emory there simply because he has experience. If Emory is it we maight as well prepare for another NIL QB next year. I wonder how long the talent we have will stay. Louisville subbed QB I think twice successfully.
There are quite a few Freshmen QB's that are doing well and I admit it bothers me we haven't reliedon any of them yet, going NIL often. From what I see Beck is good but not great. Look at this year where Michigan's Bryce Underwood, Maryland's Malik Washington, and Nebraska's Dylan Raiola. These freshmen are making an immediate impact for their teams, often due to their high recruiting rankings and talent, with some, like Underwood, already winning their first starts.
