Why Al Golden is Good for Wisconsin Football

He knows Big Ten football
Knows the area and can recruit very well for that type of football
He plays by the rules
He would have greater success in Wisconsin than he does at Miami.

Bottom Line: Wisconsin fans should be clamoring for Al Golden. He would be a solid hire for the type of football they play up there.

He simply doesn't understand miami football. He would have greater success at a program like Wisconsin. He's a good fit for them

He might be a better fit for their style but to suggest that he will be successful there is stretching it by a lot. Guy aint won anywhere...more importantly he has not won at Miami. Not winning at Miami is like not being able to get ***** in a ***** house
 
Smart Cane NVA! I support you 100 percent. Al would be a perfect fit for what they want to do at Wisconsin. He is a natural fit. Where Coach D will find it so much easier to find the right sort of guys for his defense. All of this makes sense.

Yep, all those coal shovelers that golden likes would be a perfect fit up there. And he would have a pipeline into New Jersey another plus.

Exactly! He's a Big Ten guy, who wants to recruit Big Ten caliber players to run his Big Ten scheme. Think of all the NJ studs that would line up to go to UW, which is a great school. He can take his process and pillers with him. There they will be appreciated - respected even.

Just looked at their updated Rivals hot board and he isn't even listed under the "other possibilities" there are around 15 coaches mentioned and he isn't one of them. FML!!!!

Big Ten guy, South Florida recruiting ties — sounds like Barry Alvarez’s kind of guy. So much so that Golden actually turned down the Badgers before they turned to Andersen. Will a second run at Golden be enough?

He’s just 28-21 as a head coach, but let’s remember the crap storm that he entered following his agreement to become the head coach at Miami. It just seems as if cultures and styles are clashing there and clearly (check our Twitter feed) the Hurricane faithful (all 10 of the non-bandwagoners) wouldn’t mind parting with him.

The Hurricane AD appears to be just fine with Golden, as he still has a job in Coral Gables. However, a move back to Big Ten country would be very intriguing given the crazy public pressure on the Hurricanes head coach down there.

Overall, Golden appears to have everything that Alvarez is looking for in a head coach and could be a good cultural fit and style fit at UW. Just please make sure he isn’t bringing Mark D’Onofrio with him, because those defenses haven’t been great by a long shot.

You forgot that his assistants fall within WI pay scale. Plus keeping them is not a problem, all are dedicated to Al and NEVER, NEVER leave.
